LP lyrics, LP instrumentals. Come on guys I though you were better than that. Hip-hop is in fact hip-hop and hybrid is hybrid. By judging a hip-hop album at a hybrid band mindset is no way to appreciate this album. I say Mike Shinoda did a good going at hip-hop but (yes people there is always a down side), I believe he has only one style. The music in particular has an ever present trademark that just makes me go "That's Mike" whenever I hear it on the radio and whatnot. It just does not defer.

I was disappointed in Mike's vocals. I was hoping Mike would rap like he did on Reanimation and early Linkin Park B-sides but I guess not. Lyrics could've been better on most tracks but thats another story. I think at this stage in his career Mike wants to be known in the hip-hop community and maybe thats why he did it.

Sometimes I think Mike is on the same pages as the fans when he posts on FM forums and such, other times it feels like a total different Mike trying to find himself. I respect the artists Mike worked with.

I agree. It seems as though he felt that people weren't considering him the rapper that he really is, and not giving him enough credit, so this album was put out there to sort of tell everyone that he's not a talentless wannabe rapper in a nu-metal band.

well honestly...ya i was thinking the exact same thing

mike did hold back on this album and i think we were so used 2 him rapping on linkin park when we had 2 think about his lyrics instead of now when he raps on fort minor it jsut tells a story and anyone would understand from a first listen.

and yet after all these years i still dont kno what some linkin park songs mean! and it pisses me off lol! n i already figured out all the fort minor songs...and ya i guess some songs are shit and mike can b shit at rhymes sometimes...but like its better you can relate 2 it instead of listening 2 crap thats mainstream.

and sure they wont play his songs at clubs and thats what everyone keeps telling me, why do u listen to this shit for you can dance 2 it...im like i can think 2 it atleast. and i can thank mike for alot of stuff he had helped me threw just with his lyrics. so thank you mike. and im thankful for fort minor and linkin park. Thats im gonna say...

our problem i think was that "getting used to the LP mike shinoda thing"...and honest no one is to blame for it. FM was something new so we had no idea how it'd sound! but i think mike should for some reason drop his FM things (especially looks!!) and get back to where he truly belongs...Linkin Park

ya but like mike said in a kerrang interview...he said that if the guys from linkin park didnt have his full support and he would never do it if it wasnt for them. And he would leave fort minor for the sake of linkin park, because its his foundation and his creation

woot! i like the bit about linkin park coming first!
i reckon its cool the way he made sure he had their support, shows they respect each other and are mates, proves they dont just work together for the cash i reckon

I thort the FM albulm was great lol one of my faves but i do reckon that Mike's place is in Linkin Park cos like he has said so many times his place s in Linkin Park and if the band even hinted that they wanted him out of FM he'd jump ship straight away...

Also if u look at how many relatively uknown people are featured on the rising tied it makes u think Mike was trying to put the spotlight on some of them to give them a go... WHAT A GREAT GUY MIKE U BLOODY LEGEND!!!
