And by chorus, I mean only the first line: "I'm only a crack, In this castle of glass". Overall, I really like the instrumental, the normal verses, and even the part around "for you to see". However, this part seems out of place, and I sort of dislike it. Plus, I wish they added more to the song in the format of the first stanza. Just wondering if it's just me
It's when he says: " I'm ooonnnnn... lyyyyyyyyy a craaaack; in this caaaaastle of glaaasssss " It kinda takes away from the flow of the song and sounds cringe, imo.
This is as strange as that time someone complained that One More Light is like a Taylor Swift song because it uses the word "flickers". I'm genuinely curious, do you also not like when he says: "Craaaaaaaaaaawling innnnnnn my skinnnnnnnnnnnn these wooooooounds they willlllllll not heaaaaaaaaal" "Taaaaaaaaaaaaake everthinnnnnnnng from the innnnnside and throwwwwww it alllllll awaaaaaaaaaaay" Or what about when he goes "ahhhhhhhhhHhhhhhHHHAHHHHHHHHahhahhHH" on When They Come for Me?
Random part to comment on but no I hated that part and never understood it. But yes I love the chorus of Castle of Glass. That's literally the first time I've heard someone criticize it. This sounds sarcastic but this kind of thread would've been more useful in 2012.
Surely out of the approx 7 Billion people living on this planet, there are others who share your opinion. I am not one of them.
To be fair, I'm not a big fan of the folk songs on LT. Roads Untraveled is the best one of the 3. (COG, RU, STB)
I think that's the best thing about the album, but I do agree personally that "Roads Untraveled" stands high above the others
The folk elements on LT are great imo, just wish the band had gone all in with that rather then the firecracker approach. Was trying to think of how the CoG chorus could sound better, and couldn't think of anything, maybe different lyrics in the bridge, so my overall conclusion is I like it as it is.
I was sure Skin To Bone was considered part of the folk element of LT. It felt more like folktronica compared to COG and RU, but I felt it was in the same vein. I have never been a fan of the album from either angle (the experimental folk side or the electronic pop-rock side). I guess I personally prefer the pop rock anthems like Lost In The Echo and In My Remains, but the album as a whole always felt like a filler in their discography
When a Shinoda battle rap starts, I get excited knowing so many fans are gonna complain and go listen to that REAL Hip Hop!
