I'm a little dissappointed, honestly. I expected more than this. It's alright, but there was so much hype surrounding it... guess I bought into it.
I agree. It was overhyped, I think. Or at least I overhyped it personally. But I still like it, it's a great record. Just not mindblowing or epic like I expected.
Yeah, it isn't so Epic as I thought it would be but I still think The Adventure is the most epic song I ever heard. Now I'm really looking forward to the film ... I hope it'll be included in a special edition of the album or something!
When you say 'overhyped' I completely disagree. I mean, couldn't you tell that he was joking around by saying it was gonna be the best album of the past 20 years? He said that blink's last album was gonna create world peace so you can't take anything he says seriously. If you believe that the album was 'overhyped' it was probably due to you mistakingly taking everything Tom said as the complete truth.
I don't mean overhyped by outside sources. I mean overhyped by me, in my mind. I completely forgot about the best album shit. I was just saying, what with the trailer and everything, I just thought it was going to be a big epic event type of record. It's a great record, as I've said before. It's just not what I was expecting. I knew it wouldn't be the best album in 20 years. I've listened to it a few more times today and it's growing on me. So who knows, maybe my first impression was wrong.
It definitely grows on you. Even though the vocals and the lyrics are really DAMN good, I'm really being pulled in by the instrumentals.
I was not referring to anything Tom or anyone in the band said. I had never even heard that quote, so I wouldn't have thought he was serious anyway -- and if I would've heard it I'm sure I would have realized the sarcasm. Branden hit the nail on the head. And, yes, it does grow on me. The thing is, though -- I can't listen to it on my computer for some reason. I mean, I literally can, but it just doesn't sound as good as if I listen to it in my car or CD player. The lyrics are pretty good in some instances, but in others they're not. Example: "Your best friend is not your girlfriend." ...reminds me of Hawthorne Heights ("Seeing you cry, makes me feel like saying sorry"... ugh).
Can someone tell me the exact lengths of the songs? I've found a few copies, but all the lengths seem to be diffrent then the previous, so I don't really know which one is the real one.
01. Valkyrie Missile - 6:39 02. Distraction - 5:35 03. It Hurts - 4:10 04. Do It For Me Now - 4:30 05. The Adventure - 5:40 06. The War - 5:07 07. A Little's Enough - 4:41 08. The Gift - 4:55 09. Good Day - 4:41 10. Start The Machine - 4:11 Agreed, Ant. I don't like that "Your best friend is not your girlfriend" line.
What is the movie even supposed to be anyway? I keep hearing about it and see it on their site... what is it, exactly? Or do we even know?
I think so too but maybe a war between the earth and something from outerspace. O.O Hope it won't be like War Of The Worlds...
Having had the chance to listen to the whole album now, Ive gotta say its grown on me more but im still a little disappointed was hoping for something much more
The cover leaked with the RAR of the MP3's... or do you mean something else? The cover's also on their Myspace.
oh, okay. yeah, i didn't get a RAR. but it's on Myspace. that's what i was talking about, thanks. why does it have a Parental Advisory? i didn't hear any foul words. except 'bullshit' once.
There's a couple more. I can't remember specifically, but I think it curses about 3-5 times on the album (not sure). Probably just being safe.
