As I said before, I would love to see LP do the TMNT theme song. Although, the new (awesome) animated series on Nickelodeon has a pretty sweet intro now:
This is awesome news, indeed! I really believe that Andy Wallace helped give Hybrid Theory and Meteora that added "punch" with the way he mixed all of the various sounds. I was listening to songs from both albums a few days ago and could really hear just how much was going on in the background in some of them. Someone mentioned a little earlier that we may be able to hear the bass more clearly this time. I definitely want to hear Phoenix do a bit more with his bass guitar while still maintaining the foundation of the song.
I'm not saying that ADToE is a bad album, all I'm saying is that the actual mixing ain't that great, Mike Mangini is so far down in the mix, that his drum parts just don't seem to play a prominent role in the songs, or sometimes be there at all. This is because of Andy Wallace, he did the mix. The Self Titled mix is much better, IMO. With that said, Self Titled > ADToE.
Pardon my ignorance, but who mixed: 1) Minutes to Midnight 2) A Thousand Suns 3) Living Things I'd say that ATS sounded the smoothest of the three from a mixing perspective, regardless of the name.
Okay, Avron seemed to be quite decent. Come to think of it, M2M was pretty good as well. It's just Living Things that was very average sounding.
Agree with this, in all counts. And the problem with both MtM and ATS in my opinion is that both of them lack bass. Especially ATS.
Steve Aoki confirmed LP would be on Neon Future a few days ago. Just for all the people thinking Aoki/LP for TF4. I mean, it's not ruled out, but still.
I can agree with this. Even something like When They Come for Me, the sounds that should have a ton of bass are kind of flat.
Interesting ... but, then, that could just mean that "A Light That Never Comes" will be included on the album
That would indeed be intriguing. I don't think he's for Linkin Park though. I love the guy, and I could praise his work all day long, but I don't think his highly specialised skill-set would really be at home on an LP record. Interesting idea for sure though!
There were pictures of Chester and Mike in studio with Aoki after ALTNC came out. Or maybe just in Aoki's studio. Regardless there was still something else made.
