It's a Great one too It’s too late to love me now You helped me to show me It’s too late to love me now You don’t even know me My Favorite part What do you think about it ?
I prefer the rap verse at the very end. It's something that shows Mike's true potential even more than ever.
And One was clearly one of the band's favorite songs, too, from the EP considering they played it live a lot when they first got big. Along with Step Up and High Voltage, but Step Up came later on and only as part of the hip-hop medley. I personally think it could have been refined and had a place on Hybrid Theory, at least as a B-side.
Personaly, the song is absolute perfection as it is. The live version they brought back in '01 while was good, was no where near as excellent as the original. If it has been on HT it would probably have sounded alot like the live version anyway, so I'm glad they left it as it was.
How exactly do the live and studio versions sound different to you? If it's 'cause it doesn't sound as fine-tuned live, well duh, it's live and they can layer everything in the studio. It's not like they changed anything up while playing it live, lol.
Actually they did change it, they removed the calm part in the middle and jumped from the second chorus straight to Mike's "breaking a part of my heart..." part.
You must have some extremely fucked up edited studio version of the song.
Wow ._. I mean, I just meant it was probably like the difference between SIB played live and in studio - the guitars live especially don't do the song justice. Guess it really has been a while since I heard And One at all, live or studio. That is indeed whack...
a wile back Derek and i had a nice convo about this song. In Some Interview before meteora was out chester talked about re-working 2 older songs for meteora. And One was one of the songs , not sure what the other one was. ive always thought A.O6 was more of a new version of And one. And One V.6 but that just might be me. I have the rock am ring 2001 Dvd.
I love And One. The lyrics are so dark compared to the rest of their discography, which make the song truly stand out, and the guitar work is just excellent.
Very solid track. I hope LP makes another song like this one day in terms of having a rap verse to end a song.
As I've touted before. Mike needs to pry that side of him back into the fray on something official. Continually trying something new is great, but to celebrate the traditional keeps the sound just as fresh.
with all due respect to what they've become over the years, but listening to these old performances makes me miss the old school style they displayed so perfectly.
I haven't listened to it in a while but after listening again its amazing, love the lyrics and mikes rapping in this one
Really? For meteora? Thats interesting, maybe it was Breaking the Habit you where thinking of? As it was written around 97' but it was never finished until 2003.
Yeah, That one was really mindblowing The Whole song rocks!!!!! But That Part when Chester was so slow and not screaming is REALLY FANTASTIC
