Yesterday night, fans of Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots were treated to an intimate rehearsal performance by Stone Temple Pilots, in preparation for their 2013 US Tour. Brett Buchanan of AlternativeNation (also webmaster of STPFans.com) was there to witness the show, and gave an in-depth review of the performance that night. Below is an excerpt: According to Brett the band played the following songs: Setlist: 1. Sex & Violence 2. Pop’s Love Suicide 3. Out of Time 4. Trippin’ on a Hole in a Paper Heart 5. Piece of Pie 6. Church on Tuesday You can read the entire review, and find photos from the performance here. Source: AlternativeNation
So great to read such good words from reviewers so far.. Excited for the guys and Chester, best of luck on the tour. Don't forget to update us on your own STP concert experience, Derek!
Oh I'm definitely writing a full review after the show on Wednesday when I get a chance this week. Love the fact that this isn't a "greatest hits tour" and that the band are digging out some really deep cuts from the catalog. Very awesome. Makes up for the EP being 10 dollars which is just silly.
To be fair, Linkin Park only overused the word "pain" in their lyrics. They haven't really featured it in a song title. ......yet.
"I wanna let go of the pain I've felt so looonng!" "If I could change I would, take back the pain I would." "But pain gave me something I could set my sights on." Tell me what I missed! Also, good on you, Chester!
If someone would do a list of tracks containing ''lies'', ''lied'', ''lying'' and similar it would be pretty funny.
That's odd...why are they rehearsing b-sides and album tracks? The only singles I know among the six are Out of Time and Paper Heart
To be totally relevent to the news post, I can't get over how perfectly Chester fits in. I think STP has a lot to prove now by keeping their name with Chester fronting them and I really feel like they can shut a bunch of shit talking people up. It will be nearly impossible to sway the ideals of the blind Scott-following troglodytes, but I really believe they are doing justice to the core of STP. QWERTY.
Because they want to do something different for once? And to be honest, I'd love to see LP rehearse and play album tracks and b-sides rather than just singles, which is slowly but surely becoming the trend now due to the amount of singles.
Because they want to perform both their deep cuts and singles. They didn't want it to just be glorified greatest hits tour and instead wanted to bring back songs they haven't done live in a few years. As for the pain, lies, etc list I'll get on it lol. Will have it done by Thursday
"Face that watches every time I lie" - Papercut "I wanna know the answers, no more lies!" - Runaway "Lying my way, from yoouuuuuuu!" - Lying From You "I've lied, to you, the same way that I always do." - Pushing Me Away "You held me high, and I believed when you told that lie" - Burn It Down "Choke on your lies, swallow up your greed." - Lies, Greed, Misery "You hide behind your lies, you don't know why!" - Qwerty "With all your secrets, and regrets, don't lie" - In Pieces "Between my lies, and how the truth gets in the way." - In Between "Are you lost, in your lies?" - No More Sorrow "Fuck this hurts, I won't lie" - Bleed It Out "All the lies, how they cut so deeply." - Blackout "So many people like me put so much trust in all your lies" - Hit The Floor "Heavy thoughts sift through dust and the lies" - From The Inside "From the truth, of a thousand lies" - What I've Done. That was all I could do without my head exploding! EDIT: Derek will do a more thorough job!
Best part is that Interstate Love Song by STP features the word lies. Chester will feel right at home.
