Excuse me for bringing this back to life a week later, but I just have to rave about this album.

When a new album leaks, and I love it upon the first or first few listens, I find one thing that I usually do is listen to it non-stop for a few weeks and eventually get somewhat tired of it. I can tell you this: I have played the shit out of this cd and I cannot get enough of it.

This is perfect timing for this album to come out, at the peak of my current love for heavy music with interchanging melody and screaming. Underoath caught my eye with "Writing On The Walls" but the rest of 'Define The Great Line' didn't really grab my attention. In Flames and Atreyu came out with stellar albums earlier on in the same vein. Billy Talent, to a lesser extent, as well.

This album has it all. It's got the fast energetic songs you just love to put on while driving, the retrospective ballads that make you think, the fun songs that made Alexisonfire famous ("Waterwings" being a perfect example from their debut) and make you want to mosh around to. It's a technically sound album, with inventive instrumentation and catchy riffs. It's got a great mix of George's brilliant screaming, Dallas' angelic, soaring vocals, and Wade's gutteral yelling.

Each song has a life of it's own. From the highly energetic opening riffs of "We Are The Sound", to the dark "You Burn First", to the breakdown during the bridge of "This Could Be Anywhere In The World", to the haunting downtuned guitars and piano in "Rough Hands", to the lonely desperate solo vocals at the end of "To A Friend", every song is different from the one previous and leaves you satisfied that this is a complete album with much variation.

I think the one thing that attracts me most to the band's sound is the dynamic between the vocalists. While many bands blend screaming and harmonic singing, no one does it quite like Alexisonfire. Take the possessed animal-like qualities of George's screaming and combine it with Dallas' beautiful high-pitched singing, and you've got two different extremes bouncing and feeding off each other brilliantly. The dynamic is perfect. Throw in two guitars and a bass and you've got a frenzied sound that tugs you every which way in split seconds.

I don't see myself getting sick of this album very soon, and I highly recommend that if you haven't heard it, to give it a chance and download it.

I think the album's released in the UK in a week or so. I'll just wait and listen to it end-to-end when I get it.

    My thoughts on crisis.

Sounds too much like Watch out, although, they have gone back to George screaming over Dallas' vocals, which is one of the things that made the self titled great.
Jesse Is the better alexis drummer.
Jordan's too precise and on the mark, which, may sound weird, but is not what made the self titled and watch out such good albums.
You burn first is such a good song, even though no one from alexisonfire sings in it.
It's the guy from Planes mistaken for stars or whatver.
His voice works really good with the song, although, if they play it live, I'm not sure who's going to sing the vocals.
Just like I predicted, There's more Wade on the albums.
I was hoping for a few 6 or 7 minute long songs, but it seems all the songs are less than 5 minutes long.
    There's also only 11 tracks.

I reccomend everyone download it, but if you download it, by it when it comes out too.
Crazy album, and I predict it's going to be the last alexisonfire album.
