If we were to truly love a person... It would mean we can imagine spending the rest of our lives together with that one person.

But if we were to love, it is that we want to spend the rest of our life together.

...meaning that love is the celebration that we wish to share what time we have left together alive. If we, but not the other partner, were to live eternally, we would go through plenty of loves that it loses its specialness.

So I guess if we were to live eternally, then loving will be hard to tough out.

My intuition tells me that if we were to find our True lover, then the decades and centuries that pass shan't tear them apart, as they never want to lose sight of each others heart.

Well, I guess reproduction would be allowed but that doesn't mean your offspring would be immortal also.

My question wasn't "What if everyone were immortal?" it was Given the choice, would you accept the offer to live eternally or not?

And as you can see in this thread alone, not everyone would want to live infinitely.

Being a ghost or poltergeist is called life after death.

To people who want to believe that. The truth is that we don't know enough about ghosts to make a reasonable claim about what they are.

The term afterlife is pretty contradictory in and of itself. A life after life? Impossible. Perhaps it should be rephrased in a way that makes it clear that it means "an extension of life without body" instead of saying that it's death at all. But regardless of what it's called, I don't believe in any such thing and furthermore it has no bearing on the question I raised in hypothetical and is thus totally irrelevant and thus off-topic to the subject at hand.

My question is, in life would you accept the choice to have eternal life if offered. And that does not include any afterlife but the general life and only that of the physical and not of the spiritual.

I forgot to add my own answer.

I think I'd accept the eternal life if I had a choice to end it at any time I desired.
