The lead single is "Hello," which you can check out below I'm persoally extremely excited. This song is really, REALLY good.
This is a really good song, wow. I was worried that it would be a rehash of the usual 21-like ballads. It's a lot more ambient-inspired.
It's pretty good. Adele is fire, the instrumental however is kind of generic. Wish it went a little harder in the chorus at least.
Her voice and the chorus are as powerful as always, but I can't help notice how much weaker this is than her previous work. Lyrically and instrumentally, it's really overly simplistic and generic. The lyrics to the entire song won't stick with me like Rolling in the Deep did, but the chorus is still killer. Her voice is insanely good too. This song and album are going to make an insane amount of money and smash records. Anyone think this will sell higher than Taylor Swift's "1989" in first week sales? I feel like Adele is the only one who can do that at this point. If first week sales aren't at least 1 million I will be shocked.
I'm late to the party but I gotta say that Hello honestly is up for "Chorus of the year" competition.
Finally listened to this. I don't know many Adele songs, I pretty much just know the hits – "Chasing Pavements", "Rolling in the Deep", "Someone Like You", "Set Fire to the Rain". Maybe one or two more. I enjoy all of them a lot. This one is worse than all of those. The verses are uninteresting, the chorus is grande but ultimately nothing special. Kind of a let down.
"Sources reveal that Columbia Records will ship 3.6 million physical copies of the singer's new album 25 in the U.S., which would probably mark the largest number of new-release CDs shipped in the past decade. The last album to ship more than that would have been *NSYNC's "No Strings Attached, which shipped 4.2 million units back in 2000. As of Nov. 18, insiders tell Billboard that parent company Sony Music is projecting first-week CD sales of 1.5 million, while Apple digital sales are expected to be about 900,000. Overall downloads should come in at about 1 million units. Sources also suggest that preorders at iTunes will wind up at about 450,000, while Amazon’s pre-orders have already topped 100,000, for both CDs and MP3s. If the digital and CD projections are hit, that means Adele would be selling about 2.5 million units in her debut week, which would make it the largest-selling album in a week in Nielsen SoundScan history, which began monitoring album sales in 1991. That record is currently held by *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached, which sold 2.415 million units back in the week ending March 26, 2000" Not even slightly surprised. I can't really call myself a fan, but her music seems to appeal to everyone old and young. Even people that aren't interested in music seem to like her. At this point, the only person that can top Adele's album sales now days is Adele. Now I understand what "Rolling in the Deep" meant
25 has sold 1.9 million copies in just two days in the U.S. http://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/adeles-25-is-on-fire/ That's a fucking insane number.
