A Thousand Suns Track Times

As long as those nine songs deliver, there won't be any problems. I'm fine with the shorter tracks being instrumentals with unique sounds. All I ask in return is that the nine tracks that present themselves as "whole" songs really wow me. From what I read on the review, it sounds like it's going to be even more different than I imagined. However, I'm not any less excited to hear this album.

That, and 52 minutes is a great length. I'm sure that listening to this from beginning to end will be amazing.

 

You know what, since nearly everything LP has been different, we got such a diverse fanbase here that not pissing off some section of it is impossible.

So, i quit caring about it. If people are gonna cry, all i ask is to not be inane, unconstructive and repetitive. Though that will never happen. Haters loooooooooooooove expressing thier opinion 50 times as if other people cared. Some people are worried that some fans might leave. I say good riddance.

Also, i still consider minute long songs to be songs. To me that looks more than nine.

 

Just to let everyone know, you can take these track lengths and match them up with the review from the 6-track sampler. 4 songs (excluding the Catalyst and another) match up almost perfectly, allowing you to know what the track may sound like.

I have a feeling that "When they come for me" sounds like "Leave out all the Rest". Still can't wait though for the album, i pre-ordered it at iTunes.

The length of the songs are great, but i don't understand the short tracks. Are they like the short songs in Reanimation ?

I'm really excited to hear this, curious to see what they do with tracks that are under two minutes.

 

They still got nothing on Napalm Death's song "You Suffer".

Everything about this album screams mindfuck.

I kinda wish Empty Spaces was an interlude at the end of Burning in the Skies, like the interlude at the end of Shadow of the Day before What I've Done. An 18-second track is kind of pointless and ridiculous.

Other than that, I see many tracks over 4 minutes long, and I'm stoked about that.

 

Quite frankly I'm loving that.
Most of my favourite albums "only" have 8-10 songs. I find more songs usually = filler tracks.

Those 9 songs together are nearly 40minutes long. That's longer than both HT & Meteora.

If it's 52 i'd be fine with it, is perfect. I was hoping in 55 and that's not so far. I am a little perturbed in seeing an 0:18 seconds song, which ok, connects one to the other for sure, but in lives they are going to amplify i am sure and let somehow regret they didn't work it out more in the studio haha.
This reminds me of the last Tool album, 10000 days, where a song led to the other through interludes.
One thing is sure: they were right in saying this will be a trip, a voyage.
