    This is definitely referring to people saying "go back to their old stuff":

    Yeah,
    I am not a pattern to be followed
    The pill that I’m on is a tough one to swallow
    I’m not a criminal, not a role model,
    not a born leader, I’m a tough act to follow.
    I am not a fortune and fame on the same verse,
    telling you to forfeit the game.
    I came in the ring like a dog on a chain
    and you found out that the underbelly’s sicker than it seems,
    and it seems ugly but it can get worse,
    cause even a footprint is a gift and a curse
    cause once you got a theory about how the thing works
    everyone wants the next thing to be just like the first.

    The biggest difference between ATS and the other albums, is all the messages of hope and love.

    Seriously. Listen to Iridescent. When has LP ever made a song with the message of letting go of pain and moving on? All their songs before this have been holding on to what upsets you and brooding over it.

    There's happy music on here. And some people confuse that as being poppy and bad. It really isn't.

    I think it was said, but the lyrics in the acapella Chester did for Blackout in the LPTV episode didn't make the cut in the final version.

    I made a couple changes.

    Mike really spills his guts out in this verse. And some of it is directed at some of you posting on this very website.

    I disagree about Meteora, but too each their own. Meteora was perfection IMO.

    This CD is amazing though, it's an epic journey and it's too bad to see people bash it and not give it more than 1 chance. However, whatever I only care about my opinion and that it is successful for them.

    W&K seems very QWERTY-like to me.

    I've listened to Iridescent about 10 to 15 times.

    And still every time, it gives me chills.

    When the entire band sings, it's just amazing.

    SHORT REVIEW A THOUSAND SUNS

    This album is so unpredictable;

    When youre expecting Mike to start rapping you get a slow smooth bridge; and later when youre expecting a poppish chorus you get Mike rapping hardcore;

    the guitars come and go; they are used in the climax anthemic moments wich gives a sense of epicness because yore not expecting it;

    The song with the most upbeat tempo is the heaviest song on the album; the contradictions just keep pilling on;

    One of the most interesting qualities is that even tho this songs are so varied, they feell like they should be together; it has a thread of consistency that was so much missing from M2M(crap);

    And most importantly theyve managed to change their sound maintaining the LP creepy/doom vibe they allways had;

    They try sings here ive never thought id ever ear in a LP record; like a full band chorus, yeah all the 6 band members sing in this album combined with reall nice guitar work by Brad that appears just in the right moment, EPIC;

    Saying this there are a couple of dull moments, Robot Boy is just plain/unexciting and The Messenger sounds like something straight out of a Poison album, bad call;

    With all that said if this is the direction this band is going, im ready to jump back on the bandwagon...

    I know it's not right to judge the album this early, but it's the most well-rounded/solid album they've put out so far and that counts for something big.

    I caved and downloaded...and I've got to say this is already their best album in my opinion. It's diverse, puts both their frontmen to use in new, interesting ways. This is DEFINITELY the first album since HT. I will be listening to all the way through everyday for months.

    I'll probably never love an album as much as I did after hearing HT when I was 14, though which disappoints me. I know these statements sound contradictory but the reason really is there's nothing like your first time and HT is really what made me a big music fan.

    I will say this though. For the first time since Reanimation I feel like Linkin Park is maximizing their talents and being an almost genre-less band and achieving their goal of melding rock, hip hop and electronica beautifully. Now, I'm gonna take a break let it sink in for about 30 minutes before listen No. 2.
