My thoughts on the clips. Burning in the Skies feels weak as hell. When They Come For Me, Blackout (Orgy influence?) will be FUCKING EPIC! Some of the songs do seem to build to a chorus and never have that oomph, but I feel they needed to get away from that anyway. The interludes are epic too. After listening to just the clips though, the album already has me breathless. Cannot. Wait. Want.
You ever compare LP to Coldplay again and I will hire a highly professional team of sumo wrestlers to sit on you.
Well I just got really disappointed in this record. I like the catalyst, wretches and kings, I was exited for waiting for the end but that second verse really killed me. The messanger sound like a song I could hear at and local bar when people sing with there guitars, when I heard Iridescent and burning in the skies I just thought coldplay, and when they come for me i kinda just put my hand over my head, robot boy i just thought of a 1970's prom's slow dance. Umm ya i kinda dont even wanna buy the record now. I didnt really here anything genre busting about all the new songs i just heard. If the record doesnt prove me wrong then shit Edit: DaMan12 you thought of coldplay to!! lol
for the guy saying they need to pretend to be coldplay to sell more records... I´m pretty sure they´ve sold more than coldplay my friend! So that won´t be necessary for them
I believe the people havent realised them yet. "If the presence of a million users were to burst at once into the LPA, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One... "
Perhaps a bit close minded, but I suggest you type out all your words in full before you start trying to insult me.
I like the fact that their music has grown up as we all have. Can you guys seriously say you would want the same angry lyrics and loud guitars now? The fact is LP have to change, because like humans if you get stuck in the past you will just fade away.
This. Lol just kidding this is the dumbest post I read all day. I don't think U2 or Coldplay screams in their songs, or have so much diversity in their music. I don't think Coldplay and U2 write hip-hop verses. Next.
Didn't a lot of reviewers say this was a Mike heavy record???? Doesn't really sound like it from the previews! I can't really decide how I feel and won't until I hear the whole thing. P.S. - Many thanks LP for my making my pre-order worth while. I loved all those exclusive preview you clips you sent me!!!
I love Chester singing with Mike in the background, eg Waiting For The End or Iridescent. Can't effing wait!
I like it. I saw alot of Reanimation which is what I always wanted in the band, to experiement but yet retain their sound. This sounds like a fusion of that concept while keeping the "thrill" of the ride as Hybrid Theory. I am sure as hell though for the most part, the average LP fan will not see this and get pisst off it doesn't sound like Hybrid or Meteora. The linkin park fan that's bathe in all 3 albums, will be able to see that the band has come out with a nice little golden egg .
Exactly. I think he is just referencing their softer style, but this is based on 30 second clips, which are better than any of coldplays songs anyway lol!
Definitely more electronic than I thought it would be...it's really good! Favorites so far: Burning in the Skies, When They Come For Me, Waiting For The End, Iridescent, and of course, Empty Spaces EDIT: If this is what a portion of the album sounds like, I wonder how the recreations of their older songs are going to sound like on tour?
