A chik in aussie (where i am) won this essay awardcos she put herself in a Iraqi girls view and told that girls story of how she n her brother were suicide bombers. then a critic is accusing one of the judges who gave that girl 1st place in the competition, of supporting terrorism and accused the girl too. what do u think?
So? She can support terrorism if she wants. This isn't 1984, we don't arrest people for thought crime. People have the right to think what they want, it's not until they actually do it that makes it a crime.
you said 'we don't arrest people for thought crime'. orwell had a backround knowledge to the agenda of the privilidged, the whipping of bombings which are inside job not of terrorists but the state itself gives rise to fearmongering and the thought crime is being brought to you by patriot act. there is no such thing as free society. fbi holds a lot of files on people not for what they do, but for what they think etc and ad nauseum. as to the story by putting herself in the shues of the suicide bombers is not altogether evil thing. what i think worries them is if people investigate close what really goes on in iraq from the official stories which is only the 'truth' ie lies they want you to know about it. media creates the world they put over your mind so they can get away with a lot of shit. unless people wake to the reality, its stupid to blame that girl for writing an essay, untill she looks into what truly goes on, all she's getting at is other kind of fantasy. fantasy cannot hurt another fantasy even if it's the 'official' one. its only the truth that shatters the fantasy.
We think alike. I phrased that poorly. What I should have said was: We SHOULDN'T arrest people for thought crime.
that's bullshit. i mean, what era are we living in?? the girl was creative to think of something like that, but she probably doesn't support terrorism..
i wrote an essay from the point of view of a talking lizard... i'm supporting crystal meth, arrest me. that's crap... but hey, maybe arresting the girl will convince the iraqi's to give in and surrender.
The people that are fighting for their country shouldn't be called terrorisms. So i guess i support terrorism too.
Because, you know, they shouldn't defend their homeland against an invading army.
True. I mean, they're supposed to defend their country. Duh. And... a nine year old? The topic was creative. Not supporting of terrorism. Pfft. People just like to seem like they're in charge, and all-knowing.
I heard there's a law in the UK where if you justify terrorist attacks then you can get arrested for it. I got told about it whilst I was on holiday so I don't know how true that is. And seriously, this is just taking the piss now...
Goddammit. I'm sick of this country's attitude. I'm fucking sick of everyone thinking everyone's a damn terrorist... everyone remember the Communist scare way back when? This is the same bullshit all over again.
i think we should..Leave iraq, let them start from there feet...Then, the U.s and other contrys get involved then this speach...There fighting for there contry, not for anything.. ...We should leave the iraq alone.
Suicide bombers are getting so much younger.
an australian citizen a suicide bomber?? in australia?
i agree...when u think about.. like u said Glenn with all this crazy shit that has gone on...and is still going on...its physicaly possible.. but still its still a stupid accusation cos the girl was an essay winner..
