50 Cent is the new most popular artist in the rap/hip-hop genre with his debut album: Get Rich or Dye Tryin'. 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, became popular with his smash hit Wanksta off The 8 Mile album. In 1999, his album Power of the Dollar, was heavily bootlegged and Trackmasters/Columbia never released it. 50 has suffered a lot before his "real" music hit the street. On April of 2000, the 26 years old gansta was shot nine times including the face, hand, and his leg in front of his grandmother's house in Queen. He could barely live. After being hopitalized for several month, he recovers. 50 signed with hip-hop management juggernaut Violator, and has Teamworks Music producing with Sha Money XL holding him down. 50 Cent became Eminem's favorite. Eminem didn't wait any longer to ask 50 Cent to join his own records company, Shady Records. 50 didn't any waste any second to say yes. Then he released his first video in late '02 Wansta. Then his debut album. 50 Cent talk about a lot of things that makes sense in his album. Dr. Dre and Eminem has done a great job producing 50's music. If you like rap, i'm sure that you would like 50's music because 50 is real.
