Was meant to be humorous. Different people find different things funny I guess. Regardless, I don't think I should have to go to an admit before bringing it up.
As humorous as it was meant to be seen as, people who don't understand English very well could have taken a lot offense to it.
Probably moreso people who haven't seen Pulp Fiction, as they'd totally miss the reference. References now included! =D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_mDTLphIVY&feature=related Anyway, I apologize if I deeply offended him. Hopefully in turn he will take the suggestion to put more effort into typing coherent posts on board.
That was more of an insult than it was a suggestion, in my personal opinion. Be more mindful next time. Back on topic, please. Thank you.
esaul17 - Be a bit more careful in future please. Has anyone seen the 13-minute video for Hurricane? All I can say is wtf. If anyone goes to watch it, be prepared for alot of graphic imagery.
I have. I've watched it about 3 times. I actually quite like it, but hell if I know the meaning. It encouraged me to listen to the CD again and appreciate the non-Kanye West version of the song. It also made me wonder how Leto is 38, I swear he looks around 25 in that video!
Exactly my thoughts. I must say Jared looks pretty fantastic for 38. I say that in a masculine hetero way though.
Yep...I'd be pretty fucking happy if I looked that good lol. Two guys discussing how good Jared Leto looks...Can we talk about boobies now?
I don't mind the S&M and I don't mind the little bouts of violence ... but I'd rather something more consistent for the video, just one or the other, rather than a random grab-bag of both.
to all the argument that took place because of this comment.., chill guys, i take the comment lightly...yes..i'm lazy at typing words completely..cause i barely get half hour of computer usage per day because of my boards(SAT equivalent in India, just 5x in magnitude).. i guess my english is not that bad..since i can write songs to some extent...you can find some in the 'writer's block ' section... English is my second language(Marathi is first,if you know what i mean).. @Minus.. how does me being from india got anything to do with the fact that i may not know english so well...entire education is in English...being fluent is but necessary.. *huh, that was tiring to type completely, isn't understanding what i say matters than whole complete words..??..!!'.. jared does look impressive in 'hurricane' video...
I find the Hurricane video, like many 30STM videos, incredibly pretentious. Jared Leto should just stop fucking around with the length and composition of 30STM's singles and make a music video that is the length of the actual song, instead of trying (and in my opinion, falling flat on his face) to look artsy and epic. Seems like Jared and Kanye have been swapping career advice.
You know, I feel like I SHOULD agree with you guys. But for some reason, the uber-pretentiousness seems to actually add character to make it stand out from other music videos. I mean, as a marketing move, it may not be the best idea. But it doesn't mean I don't get some good enjoyment out of it.
30STM happens to be my brother's Linkin Park: Best band ever. Of course to me, they're good. I haven't listened to much of This is War, but my favorite track is definitely "Closer to the Edge" only because I haven't heard something like it before (correct me if another band has done something like CTTE). A Beautiful Lie I have yet to listen to, and along with self-titled. But all the ABL singles and some songs (most particularly, "Fantasy") are very good to me. I do seem to wonder why the heck Leto makes the videos long. I mean, sure I get it, it's a movie, but I would just like to hear the songs at times. "Closer to the Edge" allowed me to accomplish that. Why can't Jared do something like that more often? Me and my brother ALWAYS get into arguments over LP vs 30STM and he would usually bring up the "long videos, epic songs, Jared Leto" part as his defending statement. Our band warfare still rages on, but in reality I'm glad both of our favorites are taking over the world. And as for "Hurricane"? Total mindfuck. I had NO idea what just happened.
I guess. But, in terms of imagery, and how it's used in the video, they are separate and I don't feel they came together very well
