What do you guys think of a second Fort Minor album. I really loved The Rising Tied, it was actually the first album I ever bought surprisingly enough. I listened to every track at least more than ten times. I would really love to see a second album one day. What do you guys think? Would you like to see a second album?
Here's a recent video of Mike talking about a possibility of the second FM album after the new LP record is out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0&feature=fvst
This was March 16th , I asked him the question on his blog spraypaintnink on March 16, 2010 at 8:21 pm Why is the FM site gone? What happened to being hungry to make another hip hop cd as spoken on the making of The Rising Tied? Is it because FM didn’t sell that well? I know I bother you about this a lot but it seems like you just kind of abandoned your FM fanbase completely. Over the last 5 years, we’ve only heard a few verses from you. Kind of disappointing at least from a fan’s perspective. M Shinoda on March 16, 2010 at 9:27 pm I’ve addressed this a lot. Here’s the recap: FM energy is going towards new LP album. FM site is pulled down because I post here and LP.com–I wanted to consolidate. Anything you wanted to do there, you can now do here or on LP.com. I don't know what to think man. I'm a die-hard FM fan, maybe even more so than LP. I really want it to happen. My guess is after the next LP album/tour the band will take a little break allowing Mike to do FM again.
I definitely would love to hear a second album but I don't think we're going to get one any time soon.
^ Yeah I think we're at least a year away from FM news of any sort. Unless Mike is secretly making beats in his spare time which really wouldn't surprise me.
The only way I think we might hear FM after the new Linkin Park record is through a mixtape. Otherwise (as evidenced by the FM site being gone), I don't think Fort Minor will be releasing a new album anytime soon. Although the site COULD just be down because it seems LP isn't working with Sparkart anymore (although that isn't confirmed).
Well since Mike is putting his FM energy in the new LP record I don't think there will be a new FM album in the next 5 years tbh.... He doesn't seems to be interessted in FM currently.
I don't have any problem if Mike doesn't wanna put out another FM album. But I really hope that he keeps producing for more hip-hop artists. If he sticks to it and expands his production credit, he can really make a name for himself in this area.
He sure can. If he officially said that Fort Minor will NOT get back together then I hope he can continue it in Linkin Parks music, like Blackbirds.
That would mean an even longer pause between albums than we have now. I don't think people would like that.
Yeah that is way to big of a gap. People start pissing and moaning after 3 years. Then it just gets worse from there
I'd much rather FM material than LP material at this point. We got over 30 songs with Fort Minor including demos, b-sides, mixtapes, special edition. Even though LP is getting a little better at releasing content, 12 songs on an album every 3-4 years is just bothersome to me.
I guess you make a point, but I would prefer he does it in between time with Linkin Park, then after a while of working on it he can release another Fort Minor album without stopping Linkin Park's music creation process. Just thinking.
I would like a next Linkin Park album with a lot of Mike Shinoda rap and Fort Minor influence but a next Fort Minor album... I would accept it but that means the next Linkin Park album will be longer waiting. I do like a next Dead By Sunrise Album! They are great. I can can wait for Linkin Park Albums 2 years longer if I get a new DBS Album inplacement.
Am actually agree for a second album,FM's side project is completely successful but right now mike's focusing on LP record so all thoughts n ideas will be for LP first n that's make us go back that FM projects might be pushing tentatively for now
i think it will be cool. I like fort minor very much and their songs, too. But first i want to have the new LP album.
I would prefer Linkin Park myself, and I do like the chances of Fort Minor's second album or mixing it in with Linkin Park tracks.
