R.I.P. to all those that lost their lives on this tragic day. It's sad to know that some think that "Titanic" was just a movie. :/
R.I.P. to the RMS Titanic and all the lives lost in the tragic maiden voyage...it began "lastnight" at 11:40pm (ships time) and about now it would start going down..
I would just like to share this travesty with this thread. This is a large issue, in my opinion ... http://twitpic.com/97vogu/full And I quote "Just found out that the Titanic was real. WTF!?"
How do you not know? Do they not watch TV documentaries ever? Do they not read books as a kid? Are they allergic to information?
RIP Jack, you truly were the king of the world and our hearts. In life you brought us joy and in death you brought us Leonardo di Caprio
That movie was misleading for 78% of it. It lacked attention to detail mostly and I am pretty damn sure that "love" story consisted of a Cabret singer whos lover actually died on the Titanic not in the water.
Lacks attention to detail? You do realize that every interior set in that movie was historically accurate, right? The breaking of the ship itself was true to the reality of what happened, and other than the obviously fictitious events of the movie, everything was ridiculously accurate? That the one thing that James Cameron got wrong and actually fixed in the 3D version was the night sky that Rose looks out on? Yes, the only actual historical flaw (other than the omission of the Californian) was that the stars Rose looks at in the night aren't accurate. Just saying. The only things 'not accurate' about that movie were the fictional characters written FOR the movie.
Did I say anything about the interior? Yes I give them credit for the set and the costumes, but I gotta have a whinge about people who say that the Hollwoodinized version was accurate of every detail. FYI thank fuck those people don't exist on LPA. Or do they. . . ? Just saying.
Films are not about attention to detail. They are about the story. That's what make's James Cameron's Titanic one of the greatest films ever made. James Cameron is a storyteller. Terminator, The Abyss, Titanic and Avatar definitely show that. If all you're interested in is detail and facts, go watch documentaries, because that's what they're made for!
Embellishments were for the story's sake. James Cameron's "Titanic" was never intended to be a documentary
He also fixed the animation where they show Rose what happened to the ship while it was sinking. I saw a documentary on NatGeo about it. There was a lot of brainstorming and theory that went into it. If you have the time to watch it, I suggest it.
Wow I didnt expect an uproar after my last post. Concerning the story, plot wise, sorry not my type of genre. I wanted them both dead
Maybe people don't know it was real because 1500 people dying 100 years ago is not that big of a deal at all.
