On March 4th Linkin Park will close out their brief Australia/New Zealand tour leg in Perth, Australia at the Claremont Showground. This show, like many on this tour, is a part of the 2013 Soundwave Festival. Last night, the band was in Adelaide, Australia where they played at the aforementioned Soundwave Festival. The setlist that night was similar to the other festival shows on this tour with an abbreviated set that omits The Catalyst and the piano medley of Leave Out All the Rest/Shadow of the Day/Iridescent. During the tour, Linkin Park chose to switch things up a bit by opening with A Place for My Head at the first show in Sydney, Australia and their performance in Melbourne, Australia. However, last night the band elected to play the normal festival set B which opens with Faint. As a whole, this tour leg was another successful one for Linkin Park. After a warm up show in Las Vegas, Nevada, they kicked off the tour with their 8th International LPU summit (watch videos from the event HERE) in Auckland, New Zealand. Thereafter, the band hopped over to Australia where they will have played seven shows after tonight's performance. Setlist wise, the most noteworthy thing was the inclusion of CASTLE OF GLASS in all of the shows with the exception of Brisbane due to a keyboard issue. Linkin Park also surprised fans in Melbourne when they let the crowd choose between In the End or A Place for My Head in which they chose the latter. After this tour leg wraps up, the only scheduled shows for the rest of the year are the two Japan shows in August. Whether or not Linkin Park will add more shows this year remains to be seen, but we will obviously keep you updated! Is anyone going to tonight's show in Perth? Weird to think they'll be off the map after tonight until August, assuming no more shows are added. I presume they'll be working on a new album, although I wouldn't be surprised if they took some down time for a few months.
Yeah but they have to do a UK tour soon haven't done one since November 2010 and that was for ATS they normaly don't miss the uk out like this on a album cycle
I hope that they have enjoyed the tour because it really was awesome having them back over this side of the world. Let's hope that they do have a fair amount of down time because they certainly deserve it and most probably need it. Well done on a fantastic tour to them. And well done to the LPA for great coverage.
I think if they are to do a UK tour, it'll be late May. I remember something about them having the second half of the year off from touring, so I assume Japan will be their last show of this tour?.
Looking forward to seeing video footage of "Bleed It Out", then I'll bet LPU gets a "Harlem Shake" video from the band.
Haha, don't expect to see any of the band members dancing along to it guys! But yeah, it was definitely a surprise nonetheless. My sister had to remind me what it was... I'd tried to forget
I'm still surprised that there are so many questions about their down time, still. Joe Hahn has said on different occasions that they'll take care of The Mall OST/Score next, next tour date will be Japan (and maybe more dates in Asia, though I don't believe it), and then the next LP album. It might be hard to realize, but LP will really spend most of 2013 in the studio instead of touring. For those who don't have Twitter, Joe tweeted today that the next live shows will be in Asia, so definitely no EU/UK in May/Summer.
