The catalyst is Electronic/Altern Athem Electronic music has done before but the way that Linkin park gives this song this huge epic athem feeling is very new
I've come to a few conclusion then: -This isn't anything that hasn't been done before but this just take that stuff to the next level (if that made any sense). - Not sure this has to do with anything, have you seen how badass that guy looks on the Medal of Honor cover and how epic his beard is. I'm starting to think that this song was made to go with that epic beard.
I'll say this much, my local rock station wont even play the song. In fact, I called in to request it and the DJ laughed at Linkin Parks new single and basically said no lol.
I personally think with The Catalyst mentioning the "G" word in the song and how they word it, is why the rock station wont play it. That, and the huge electronics involved making it 'sound' techno.
I actually agree! This is ABSOLUTELY NOT a religious song. AT ALL. But when some people hear the word "God" in a song, they think religion. Those same people would wonder why some christian electric song is playing. Then they would be like "What station is this? Where did Lady Gaga go?". I do think the lyrics have a part in the lack of mainstream play. And the lack of sales.
are u f**king kidding me, haven't u read this article: http://www.lpassociation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31406 i do agree that this is in no way a religious song nor should it be confused as one. this is like saying Skillet is a christian rock band..........or maybe it is......idk
Skillet is VERY MUCH a Christian rock band, they have an acoustic gospel album plus during the concert i went to of theirs they talked about how Jesus has influenced them.
This is true. But I don't think if the band is religious or not should be seen as a reason to love or hate a band/song anyway.
*shrugs* All this talk about christian rock reminds me of Phi's old band ummm *scratches head* As for a genre, I call it Linkinitis.
