Hot off the heels of their Friday show in Mexico City, Linkin Park continue on to Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco. This is the second date of their three-show Mexico run to kick off the 2025 From Zero world tour. The band will be playing tomorrow at Estadio 3 de Marzo, located in the municipality of Zapopan in the greater Guadalajara Metropolitan Area. This is the band's first time playing both in Guadalajara and the western Pacific Coast of Mexico, with their previous six shows in the country (including Friday's show) all taking place in Mexico City or Monterrey. Friday night's show had a lot of surprises for fans in Mexico City, featuring two full debuts from From Zero, "Overflow" and "Good Things Go, as well as a debut of a full-band rendition of "Lost," from Meteora's 20th anniversary. At the end of the encore set, they also performed a portion of "Cut the Bridge" over the bridge of "Bleed It Out." With these live debuts, it seems the band could be dropping songs such as "Lying from You," "Points of Authority," "Breaking the Habit," "Leave Out All the Rest," "Friendly Fire," and the acoustic rendition of "My December" to make room—or perhaps they will appear in new rotating slots tomorrow. The band is known for rotating setlists, so it may be too early to tell if those songs have been dropped entirely. "Lost" was the first of the new numbers Linkin Park performed for the Mexico City crowd. The band had been playing a shortened piano duet of the first verse and chorus since their exclusive comeback show on September 5th. This rendition was transposed down from the original key of A minor to G minor, featuring Mike Shinoda on piano and Emily Armstrong on vocals. "Lost" started in the piano format in Mexico City in the original key, but seemed to be continuing the duet format. However, after the first chorus, the full band kicked in, debuting the full studio arrangement live for the first time. "Lost" became a major hit for Linkin Park after the band dug it up, remastered the song, and released it 20 years after they cut it from Meteora, for the 20th anniversary celebration of that album. This fan footage captures the full performance, with the transition from piano ballad to full band. To cover the dense vocal production of the song in the bridge, nearly every member of the band seems to be contributing live vocals, with only drummer Colin Brittain not singing. Joe Hahn has added live vocals previously, particularly with the "The Catalyst" since the A Thousand Suns era, and Phoenix also has a history with backing vocals, most recently singing on "Over Each Other," but this is the first time touring guitarist Alex Feder has sung live. This video starts at the band entrance, but the vocal harmonies are easier to hear! Immediately following "Lost," the band debuted "Good Things Go," the closing song from From Zero that has seen much positive fan reception since release. Linkin Park surprisingly chose to transpose the song down from D minor to C minor, whereas most of their key adjustments for Emily have been on songs originally sung by Chester Bennington. "What I've Done" followed "Good Things Go," but the band immediately followed this with the debut of "Overflow" to open Act IV, complete with scratching parts by Joe Hahn. Fans only recently discovered the more textural scratching parts buried in the mix of "Overflow," as they were included in the From Zero a cappella tracks the band released just over a week ago. Finally, to close out the show, the band played their staple closer "Bleed It Out," adding an extended bridge as has been tradition for many touring cycles. "Bleed It Out" has featured an array of extensions over its bridge, including Rob Bourdon drum solos, "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys, the Xero song "Reading My Eyes," "A Place for My Head," "There They Go" by Fort Minor, and now the From Zero track "Cut the Bridge." Many fans noted similarities between "Cut the Bridge" and "Bleed It Out" upon From Zero's release due to the structural similarities and strong quarter-note snare beat on both, so it's no surprise the band has decided to mash them up here! Mike performed his bridge verse from "Cut the Bridge" over the extended bridge, seen below. That sums up all the big surprises from Linkin Park on Friday, but there are undoubtedly more to come! The band has yet to debut "IGYEIH" and "Stained" from their newest album, and "Cut the Bridge" remains to be seen in its full form. With seven of the ten full songs on From Zero already debuting live, it's hopeful that these will be added to the setlist at some point on the 2025 world tour. Will they debut one of these songs in Guadalajara tomorrow? Or maybe there are more setlist surprises in store—fans have been clamoring for the live debuts of the remaining songs from LIVING THINGS ("I'LL BE GONE," "SKIN TO BONE," "UNTIL IT BREAKS," "POWERLESS") and The Hunting Party ("War," "Mark the Graves," "Drawbar") since the band debuted both "Keys to the Kingdom" and "All for Nothing" last year during their 2024 arena tour. I wouldn’t be surprised if they rotated Good Things Go and Overflow with at least IGYEIH or Stained at this show! I was surprised to see them debute those songs, particuarly Overflow. I didn’t think it would make for a good live song, but it honestly sounds amazing! It’s so cool to see them be so behind the new material. Seeing them perform, you can tell they’re having a blast. I already saw them in Dallas last year, but now I should consider maybe getting tickets for Austin and/or Tulsa…
I love that they've played so much of the album. I'm all for old songs being replaced with new ones EDIT: also, while I'm sad that Chester isn't around to perform it, I'm really glad that "Lost" is being played as well. I think we all knew it would be a great live song if given the chance
Great debuts yeah! Time to see CTB and Stained, I hope. Of course, Em going berserk in IGYEIH live would be rad.
Overflow live made me very happy. Now the one I absolutely need is IGYEIH. It's meant to be a live jam.
I have a feeling that Cut the Bridge, Stained, and IGYEIH will be performed in the spring or summer shows this year. Seems too early to bring them out right now since Good Things Go and Overflow and still so fresh in terms of live performances. I'll be genuinely surprised if any of the three songs off of From Zero that have not debuted yet make an appearance in the upcoming shows this month.
It's hard to tell. I could see them doing rotating slots where they appear, given the number of songs they're already juggling with this setlist. And in that case, I wouldn't be that surprised if at least one of them appeared tonight. But I could also seem them just holding off so that we don't get everything in one quick go at the start of their touring year. That also makes sense to me to keep the anticipation going.
Yeah, they have much longer tour legs throughout this year, I agree that we should expect them to space out the debuts and such
LP 9 should just be Mmm...Cookies revisited. And then the full Mmm...Cookies discography should be played as the encore set.
Did they play my boy Keys ?!!? Big win. It needs to be brought in until we at least get a proshot of it
Wiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!! amazing, they’re getting so good at it. check this guy’s channel, lots of good clips.
I love how he seems more integrated and comfortable and he does backing vocals now cooool. He did it too last Friday in Lost, right?
Also, I think he's rather good at the guitar solo. Please guys, induce him into the band. (this situation reminds me of Rami Jaffee, he toured for like ten years with the Foo Fighters before he was oficially inducted).
