From Zero: A Cappellas Coming Friday, Jan. 24

Linkin Park has announced that a cappella tracks for their latest album, From Zero, are set to be released this Friday, January 24, 2025!

While the band has not mentioned any plans for instrumental tracks yet, it is possible this may follow, considering their history.

Linkin Park has previously released two official acapella and instrumental albums for their studio releases. The first was in 2012 for their fifth studio album, LIVING THINGS, and the band followed suit with their next studio outing in 2014, The Hunting Party. Linkin Park did not release instrumentals or acapellas for 2017's One More Light, but an instrumental of the title track was officially released with their instrumentals release for the Papercuts single compilation in 2024.

This announcement is exciting news for Linkin Park fans, especially here at the Linkin Park Association, where the remix albums Reliving Things and Viscera were created using the acapella and instrumental tracks from LIVING THINGS and The Hunting Party. Viscera was even officially released by the band through the Linkin Park Underground fan club!

That scream before the first verse in Casualty remains a mystery...

 

The one at 0:23? There's actually a transcription on Genius/Spotify of it as "Launch me up high"—though this isn't included in the album booklets. I just noticed this morning because I don't usually look at lyrics but decided to today. I don't remember if this has been discussed already, and also have no idea if that's official or not.

Listening now, "Overflow" here is very interesting! I didn't realize a lot of these ambient layers were vocals.

 

Okay, I just heard the official a cappella on Youtube... It's obvious now.

 

Points I make from listening:

• Mike's parts are super clean and furious
• Mixing is superb, like all the layers in Overfow, and the ones in Stained.
• First scream in Casualty says: "Let's get out alive".

All in all, nice little perk here. I need the Instrumentals, to hear clearly those guitars, keys, drums, bass and scratches.

 

Cool, fun stuff!! Pleasantly surprised they released it. Like it was said in the initial post, an instrumentals release is extremely likely.
