I've learned more so from Imagine Dragons than any other artist that when the artist becomes popular, to totally ignore the songs you like so they aren't ruined from overplay. ID has easily become overplayed for me without actively listening to them. That's saying something.

I've honestly disliked ID overall from the first time I stumbled on their album on Spotify, before ever hearing about them prior to that.

 

I never said it was for a movie, I said they were sellouts because they wrote a ton of music for movies, AND, they released a new version of a song. Two separate ideas.

Well the sellout argument is pretty stupid and it always has been. Aside from this Transformers collaboration, I don't think any of the songs they had written or put on those soundtracks were actually used in the movies and Alex Da Kid is all about promotion and getting his bands names everywhere. He's doing it with X Ambassadors too so I wouldn't be surprised to see their name everywhere soon.

But seriously, if the band didn't put out music for movies, we'd be without anything new since September 2012. That's why it's good.

 

Just rename this thread to Imagine Dragons an get it over with

wow, like 4 pages are filled with ID. didnt even notice.

 

I don't know their music but their name really sucks.

 

Not sure if I want to buy Storm Corrosion's self-titled, Killer Be Killed's self-titled, or Michael Jackson's Xscape.... decisions, decisions.

EDIT: I ended up getting both Killer Be Killed and Storm Corrosion, thanks to a friend having a 5 dollar Best Buy coupon. WOO!
