So, I've got this laptop...

    Which I acquired for free. No, I didn't steal it. It's a late-year Sony Vaio lightweight/widescreen model, and if you ask me, really fucking sexy.

    Problem is, I don't have a power supply for it and the guy who gave it to me says the motherboard is fried. I can borrow a power supply to do some diagnostic work on it (i.e. see if anything else is borked), but what I want to know is if there are any sites (or hell, even stores) that sell scrapped laptops for parts. Any other random words of wisdom are also accepted.

    Try to find the same laptop for cheap with a different problem (like a broken LCD).

    Ebay maybe? If it's still under warranty, try calling Sony and seeing if they'll replace it
