Maroon 5 are coming out with a new album. This time, however, they've learnt their lesson and have veered completely clear of Linkin Park's new album! They're releasing their new album instead on September 2, 2014, where they'll stand more of a chance at landing a hot-shot on the Billboard 200! Their new album is appropriately entitled V, and will be helmed by lead single "Maps", described by OneRepublic-famed and V producer Ryan Tedder as something that "doesn't sound like anything out". Judging by all the producers they're working on, I'm expecting this to be poppy like their last album (I liked "One More Night"). Who knows. It's interesting though that they're working with both Jesse and PJ.
I remember reading Adam Levine say quite a while ago that the album would be darker, sounding closer to their debut "Songs About Jane". Might not be awful.
And what would that exactly sound like? They've always had the drums, bass, vocals and guitars, it's just that Hands All Over and Overexposed admittedly were overproduced. The instruments are still there though.
"Maps" has premiered. Sounds like Before Long meets Hands All Over. This is WAY better than any of the stuff on Overexposed!
I'm not feeling the chorus and the Auto-Tune. I like "Payphone" and "One More Night" better, but it's an ok song. I can hear the Ryan Tedder influence here. I like the bridge though.
The song fucking blows. There's nothing to it. It sounds like a band doing a cover on a top 40 pop song. Even at that, it's not a good pop song. Time to forget about Maroon 5. What a prime example of a band selling out

Ooh cool cover. Album will probably suck though, never been a huge fan of maroon 5 but they have turned into a pop band. One More Night was cool though.
