Always sad to hear about an original member of a great band dying far before his time (I personally prefer Mike Inez as a bassist, but that's irrelevant in this context), particularly after a long, publicized battle with substance abuse. I know that hasn't been confirmed to be the cause of death, but given that he died at home and it sounds like the police were called after his body had already been discovered, it's probably safe to say that was the reason. I always pull for people to beat this kind of thing, it's really depressing when they don't. R.I.P.
