This one was heavily influenced by Lupe Fiasco and his track "Paris, Tokyo". So much so that I wrote the lyrics to go over the beat in that track (although lyrics have a completely different flow to the original's except for the end of the last stanza). I've put the stuff taken from Lupe Fiasco's song in italics (although I took the phrase "in less than four" from another of is songs, "Dead Presidents Freestyle"). Anyway, I hope you enjoy the lyrics as this is my first attempt at writing hip-hop lyrics for a long time "Paris, Tokyo" Let's go to sleep in Paris, And wake up in Tokyo. Have a dream in New Orleans, Fall in love in Chicago, Mayne. Wherever I go she goes. Stood up straight and said "Forgot something," And then proceeded to kiss her, right on her cheek, Her cheek turned into her lips her lips to her legs, Legs opened up and laid her right back on the bed, and I, Took her hand and moved it down by her side, I whispered in her ears and stared right in her eyes, Stroked those open legs and then suddenly I died, She said "Shut up, kiss me and hold me tight tonight," and I replied, "So sorry for the earlier mistake of, Turnin' around and walkin' away from, this one, This night, is so nice, it doesn't feel trite," Remembered I was by your side and suddenly I was fine, uh huh, Can't remember what my life was like before you, Now I'm strugglin' for breath overcome by your interests, Your nightdress on the steps, we undressed in less than four, Fallin' over each other on our way through the doors, Impressed by her evil temptress ways I said, "Although the club was good I'm so glad that we left," No reply, in between my catchin' of breath, "No worries for tomorrow or what will happen next." But we can land in the motherland, Camelback across the desert sands, Take a train, to Rome, or home, Brazil, for real, Wherever I go she goes, Wherever I go she goes. Through the tumblin' and fumblin' for clothes, Thoughts through my head imply she's the best I coulda chose, So the ditchin', made harder by my shoes in the kitchen, Was harder still because my thoughts were scattered on the ceilin', And the cogs in my brain all start tellin' me the same, Let's take a second here to rethink my decision, it's clear, That the girl in the bed is somethin' special, And last night she changed my flawed percept of heaven, Still I walk out, look back at the door that we fell in, Notice it's funny how now I can use it's double meanin', Her face reflected off the whole of my iris, I crawl back into the bed and rejoin the quiet. Let's go to sleep in Paris, And wake up in Tokyo, Have a dream in New Orleans, Fall in love in Chicago, Mayne, Then we can land in the motherland, Camelback across the desert sands, Take a train, to Rome, or home, Brazil, for real, Wherever I go she goes, Wherever I go she goes. You roll over and briefly stare me right in the eyes, Issuing that sweet smile that led me here last night, You kiss me on my cheek and run your hands down my chest, I hold you closer; tell you you should get some rest, And as time rolls by, I stare at the clock, That hangs to the left and gives that same tick-tock, Unaware of the bomb that has just been dropped, On my heart once I notice that I've fallen in love, Who woulda thought, that a short one night stand, Would turn into us lying here, hand in hand? Damn, I can't believe that I almost ran, Like half the man I am could ever be that bad, nah, But now I'm glad that the legs I have, Don't use the same heart that my brain adapts, Otherwise I would have bailed and left the bed vacant, Leavin' an unfitting end to the night we had, But I'll be there, by your side, In your heart and, on your mind, So, as I pull you closer I can feel your warmth, Scared of ruinin' the moment so I won't talk, uh. Let's go to sleep in Paris, And wake up in Tokyo, Have a dream in New Orleans, Fall in love in Chicago, Mayne, Then we can land in the motherland, Camelback across the desert sands, Take a train, to Rome, or home, Brazil, for real, Wherever I go she goes, Wherever I go she goes, Wherever I go she goes, Wherever I go she goes.
I like it. I don't know the song that you've based this on (simply because I haven't checked out much of Lupe's stuff yet. I know, shoot me. ) but it does seem quite pro in the way it flows (excuse the rhyme lol) and the language is good. The only part I thought was a bit weak was this: I think it kinda takes away from the flow a little. Otherwise it's a great bit of work.
