Very good interview. Having watched the live stream again it's obvious Emily hasn't found her version of the old songs yet and ita probably going to take a few live shows for her to settle in to them. Also she must have been so nervous. You can here her true style on the emptiness machine and where natural range is between clean and screamed vocals. There will be parts of songs she won't be able to hit and no other vocalist could to match Chester's. So I'm looking forward to hearing how she settles in to those songs
Well said, and I’m glad you took time to put a lens on Brad. For some of things I’ve heard about why Rob isn’t around, I felt the same could have been said about Brad. I felt (we collectively), were all like “Oh it’s good to see Brad again!” For HT’s 20th, because he was MIA otherwise, and I feel like that isn’t being acknowledged as much as it should. He’s “back” but not. Will be interesting to see if he has production credits on the album. He is very capable of working from afar. I hope there isn’t some unknown health-related fight we don’t know about that is/has been going on that is contributing to his inability to perform. Great interview, felt natural, professional, and also from a place of a fan. Also, mustard is where the magic of a sandwich truly lives.
He's credited on "The Emptiness Machine" for guitar and production, and presumably writing as part of Linkin Park, so I think it's safe to say he's involved in the rest of the songs.
I respect Brad's decision not to perform live, and I'm just glad he's still involved in writing and producing. He was always an important part of the band's studio process, and it just wouldn't be the same without him. With that said, having only 3/6 original members live does of course make this new chapter feel a little more disconnected from the original era.
Yeah its definitely a lot of change to take in. But I'll say - I used to get so happy seeing Dave randomly appear during PT tour. So having 4 of the 5 involved in whatever capacity they want to be involved in, is enough for me.
