I'm sure you've heard the infamous BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMM Inception theme by now... It's composed by 28 year old composer Zack Hemsey. He used to be part of an obscure hip-hop group called Nine Leaves before he went solo. Check out his 2010 album Empty Room HERE. It's fucking brilliant! Hip-hop merged with cinematic compositions. Give it a listen, you won't be disappointed. Also, check out this interview below to learn more about his music...
Wow, this is pretty awesome. So far I think I like ‘The Arrival’ the most, ‘The Forgotten’ is good but I don’t like the rapping in the first verse, haha.
I'ma troll a bit and say "I love Inception!" Now, onto more serious issues: this guy's fucking legit. I LOVED the epic feel of his contribution to the soundtrack and am now listening to Empty Room. EDIT: Open Spaces is the shit!
My favorites from the album are: The Arrival, Changeling, At War With Me, Why, I'll Find A Way. So good! His Bandcamp page also has some of his other compositions, like a reinterpretation of Changeling and multiple versions of Mind Heist. Check them out!
The infallible Wiki tells me that Hans Zimmer created the score for the main movie and Mr Hemsey had composed music for the trailers.
Score =/= Theme. Mind Heist was used for trailer # 3 and since then the music went viral! It is now considered to be one of the main themes of Inception
