I know it looks like that now but I have complete faith in Bungie. They created the wonderful universe of Halo. Who says they can't do it again?
It's official http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/update No always online No used games restrictions No renting restrictions No borrowing restrictions No region locking.
Super psychic Mark! It's a shame Microsoft didn't trudge through and aim for a different market, but I guess that's what happens when you don't have Steve Jobs' or Tim Cook's backbone. Oh well, I will just sit back with my Day One reservation having been in hand for over a week while everyone clamors for theirs now.
I'll just have to wait until these consoles come out and see what others think about them before I even think of buying them. I feel like these new policies are still kind of testy, and I don't want to jump the gun just yet.
Well now there aren't any new policies - the original reveal Xbox One was the only one that changed the game at all, but now both it and the PS4 are just upgraded versions of the 360 and PS3, respectively. Same rules as current-gen. They only swapped details on XBLG and PSN+ - now XBLG will offer free games and PSN+ is required for multiplayer gaming. That's some real BS about still needing the disc on One now, though - I was really looking forward to quick-swapping. However, the promo art for those classes look so slick, I can't resist. Plus, physical media is always more trustworthy. *sigh*
I don't get it. Why is that facepalm worthy? He didn't want to buy it because he didn't like the DRM. Microsoft has removed the DRM, and he now wants to buy it.
I don't find the "good thing I can sell back my games after I play them to my heart's content" argument justification for buying a console. Personal thing.
The best way to show your discontent as a consumer is to vote with your wallet. One console manufacturer does something you don't like, so you buy its competitor's product. If anything, it's just common sense. What's the alternative, take it on the chin? Fuck that.
That must be why Surfaces, Tabs, and Nexus' are selling like crazy and iPad sales are dwindling. I just think Microsoft should have shown some backbone and stuck with it - they would have found their target market, whether it be a fraction of their current one, or a new one altogether.
I like pre owned games because I can find old games that aren't being sold new at retail anymore. Like, I got Fallout 3 GOTY for 14 euro. Only 14 for a full game and 5 dlc(which cost 10 each on XBL) 14 euro for what ended up being my favourite game of all time. Things like that is why I like used games
