Best controllers of all time. Of all time! Seriously though, I even use them for playing games on my PC. Nothing beats Playstation.
And also, I must live in Microsoft land here in my town, but an XBOX Elite is actually cheaper than a PS3. Not to mention the games. We can get DS games for $5 each (excludes new releases of course but even then you're looking at about $40), Wii games start from $20 (even less on sales), PS3 games preowned start from $70 and every other game I've seen is over $100, preowned 360 games start from $25 and new release games start from $80 to about $120. For 1200 MPs it's only $25 and so is a three month subscription to XBOX Live while a year is $60-$80 depending if you go to EB Games, Dick Smith or Game. I got DJ Hero on 360 for $52 (includes turntable) preowned while a preowned DJ Hero on PS3 at the same store was $80. And I read somewhere that the PS3 offers better game graphic - this only applies to High Def tvs like plasmas and LCDs. I don't have a High Def tv I have a box hooked up to my analog tv to receive all the free to air digital channels as we've wiped clean of analog signals now. I can't tell on my tv in other words for my TV was only $20 from an op shop.
There's probably no point in you trying to emphasize price differences. It seems prices in Australia are not the same as the US prices (for example, 1200 points here are roughly $15), so there's really no relevance to the topic at hand.
I would assume since your Live points are cheaper than ours, your Elite price would be cheaper than PS3s in the general consoles.
The 360 and PS3 are roughly the same price, Sarah. And so are the games. We've already gone over all of this.
In the US, consoles are $300 (except the Wii which is cheaper) and games are $60 - and typically when a game goes on sale or the price drops permanently, the change happens for the game on all consoles. If you look in a Best Buy or Target ad at the video games, it will state that the sale price is for the PS3, 360 and Wii versions (or for whatever versions are available).
Actually I love the PlayStation controllers, it's simple and not bad. Though I can't say it's the best mainly because I don't know how the X-Box controller works. So for all I know the 360's controller might be more better, but even if that's true I will still love the PlayStation controller. On a side note I will soon find out what I will get for Christmas (the X-Box 360 or the PS3). I told my parents since the community of the LPA (and other internet facts of both consoles) have helped me see the props for both the consoles, I choose either console because both seem great. So in Christmas day I will see what I will get.
I love the PlayStation controllers. The analog sticks, along with the other buttons, actually seem like they are in the right place, and to be honest, I much prefer a smaller, less bulky controller.
Rule #1: When debating what is better, research your facts first instead of posting things from 2006 that are outdated or now irrelevant.
I've seen many side-by-side comparison tests online and the majority of the time it's the 360 that has better graphics. One of the biggest drawbacks with the Playstation is its software. Xbox developers use the Microsoft XNA toolkit which is cheap and easy to use. The Playstation SDK is expensive and not as easy to develop for. What ends up happening is that a studio creates a video game using XNA and then ports it to the PS3.
I have both....You want a pure gaming system? Go for the 360 You want a gaming/entertainment system? Go for the PS3 Just a couple of notes: -I'm on my 3rd 360 (don't ask me why I keep getting them)...the other two have died from the red ring of death. -I got my PS3 the day it came out...haven't encountered a problem yet. -I think the PS3 controller is just all-around more comfortable to play with. -The Kinect is fun, but I think it's a carbon copy of the Playstation eye. -Gaming graphics on the Xbox are superior to PS3. I may be a little biased because I love my PS3 to death...but meh.
