I would have never worked for Sparkart. I would have never moved to the Bay Area (CA) from the UK. I would have never found a job a Sony. I would have never been software architect for a major PS3 app. It's funny when you can look back and identify those moments that changed your life. Thank you LPA. Great work on 10 years of success!!
To those of you who are too young to know this, Alex used to be an admin for the LPA. He then went on to bigger, better things.
It's funny that I qualify for this and yet I'm older than you are. Thanks for the info, though. Also, Alex, nice to meet you. Good job!
Yep, Alex was the guy who kind of put the gears in motion if you will and told us that we needed a .com to really be successful/get the word out. Without him pushing us to get a .com address (and even paying for it the first few years) I can truly say we probably wouldn't have gone anywhere, or at least not lasted a full ten years. So in reality Alex...the thanks must go to you too. You did a lot more for the site than you'll ever know and we'll always appreciate your contributions!
He sounds like a very important person to the site and it blows my mind that this is the first time I'm hearing about him.
Holy shit it's Alex! Had I not PMed Alex on the LPMB back in June 2002 asking him where he got the pictures for his Pts.of.Athrty signature, I never would have been invited to join the staff here. Crazy how a simple action can turn into a life-altering moment. Thank you, Alex.
I've heard of Alex before, never seen him around. Nice job Alex, great work on the site, and great accomplishments in life. I'm a huge Ps3 fan as well so thank you for you rwork on that too!
From Sheffield to Silicon Valley. Nicely done, Alex. I too have ventured to the Bay Area from the UK, I'm currently back in my cage in London though. Only ever drove past Palo Alto, never quite had the skills to work there lol.
