1. It was too in your face. Like saying "Hey! Guess what, it's the 80's man!" No, really... Why did That 80's Show have to suck SO SO SO SO bad? ------------ I think I know what could have made it better, which might seem a ridiculous idea but hear me out. 1. Keep all the characters from That 70's Show. I never got why they had to go into a entirely new story with entirely new characters because of it turning from '79 to '80. 2. Instead they could have kept the original cast and contrary to having it revolve mainly around Eric's life have it revolve around how the world was slowly but increasingly changing and show how the characters react to that. 3. It's not like just because it turned from 70 to 80 everything magically was different in a fucking day. Come on! 4. Stories about college adventures and job searching etc, (kind of like Friends), 5. Become a social commentary about evolution of technology and contrast it with older characters vs younger characters. But really, if That 80's Show would have kept the characters that made That 70's Show so great, while flipping it on it's head and going in a completely different direction while at the same time maintaining the backgrounds of each cast member there would have been a much deeper emotional development as we would have gotten to see how the teens transition into actual adults and how their views changed, instead of just leaving them as iffy caricatures of early adulthood. Yeah, I'm on a rant... But am I the only person who thinks this? Or am I alone? I say, Reboot That 80's Show, and do it right this time.
I wish I could find it somewhere, Glenn Howerton was the main character, and I want to see Dennis Reynolds act like a nerd instead of a sociopath.
