Anyway on a serious note. Is Earth Hour enough to clue people in on about Global Warming? Or just a publicity thing like Live Earth or whatever that will fall flat on it's ass.

Perhaps you think global warming is a big conspiracy, like the '69 moon landing and George Bush winning Florida.

Should we all log on to LPA in protest?

    Thoughts? Opinions? Outbursts? Coffee?

I think enough people know already, it's just that they either don't give a shit or are in denial.

I think it's not going to do any good really, and that's all I have to say, because I generally get very vocal about Global Warming.

TBH, although I don't think Global Warming is as big as it's made out to be, I try to do my part. I keep my lights off, I keep my computer off when not needed. I shut off my stereo. I make sure I keep the thermostat at a reasonable level, and shut the doors, windows, etc. when it's on. I don't use flourocarbons. So, even though it might not seem like it, I actually do my part. So, Earth Hour was just an annoyance to me, because I'm already doing what they say, and one hour isn't going to change anyone, nor is it going to do much good.

This isn't directed at anybody in particular... it's just a general statement.

Even for those who deny the existence of global warming or deny that it is caused by humans, you could just look at it from a practical angle. What's a little extra effort to you when you can actually save money on your power bill? Furthermore, I seriously doubt anyone can conjure up an argument against cleaner air. I think it's perfectly sound to want to be skeptical of the things
we're told are true, but don't use that as an excuse to be lazy. Being a little kinder to our surroundings is a win-win situation.

    PS. I swear I'm not a hippie. :p

Yep, I agree. When the termostat is on, all windows are closed. If I'm not on the computer it's either off or on pause. Laundry detergent and fabric softeners are concentrated. If I'm not watching tv it's completely turned off. Etc, etc.
