http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where_the_Wild_Things_Are_(film) http://www.empireonline.com/futurefilms/film.asp?ID=133177 As you may or may not know, this film was first set to be released almost a decade ago but has had a fairly troubled production since then for various reasons. It seems like it's finally going to see the light of day however, and to me it seems like it'll be pretty interesting if nothing else. It is supposed to juxtapose a somewhat "family friendly" tone with more dark and disturbing elements, which sounds great. More recently, images from the film have began being released as well, including a set of limited edition decks released via Girl Skateboards (of which Spike Jonze is the co-owner). Girl decks "The character's feet are too big to switch flip" poster (both screenshots taken at http://wallridecatalog.com) It also has a pretty strong looking cast including James Gandolfini and Forest Whittaker. So yeah, a hell of a lot of potential imo.
I'm a great admirer or Spike Jonze's work on Weezer music videos, and I actually think his creativity and style will greatly suit this. I love the book, so hopefully this is good.
