Maybe the "nu-metal Linkin Park" fans need to deeply listen to this song, to see LP's intentions of EVER going back to that sound
Mike seriously has some fucking balls to call out people he knows make up a big portion of his fan-base. I LOVE IT.
I don't know how it can be called a cluttered mess, it's probably one of the more straightforward and to the point songs on the album. As for why people like it, you've got one of Mike's best raps and probably their wittiest lyrics by far over a cool beat and guitars, then the slightly more atmospheric and eerie part around the bridge yet it flows perfectly imo. It's got most of what's good about Linkin Park to date in a concise package.
I can't decide whether this or Blackout is my fav song from ATS. These lyrics are so fucking funny; GTFO haters
I think it might be one of the most complex songs LP have ever created, Mike's best rapping in years, fantastic drumming, nice heavey guitar riff in the background, then suddenly the beat changes when Chester starts singing, absolutely brilliant.
I could use this song to beat anyone old LP fan. I must say.. But the drumming on this one is super-addictive + impressive. Can't wait to hear it live.
I hated MTM but I love ATS. MTM was fucking bad, it's funny he always thought that haters just didn't like changes and wanted them to go back to their old sound. Some people do, but for lot's of fans It's wasn't about that, it was about the mess it was.
The first verse sums up what Mike feels about people that say they should go back to their old style really well. Indeed a epic song and my favorite of the album!
The song just builds perfectly. As soon as Chester comes in, it's perfection. It just blows me away. All of the songs blew me away. I love the chorus of this song, though. Brilliant.
I'm pretty sure he wasn't generalising everyone who criticised that album if that's what you're saying.
