I can't wait, I really have wanted to hear the REAL OSC demo for a long time..... what is the source of this? and why did it take so long to surface? that hunt excites me more than the actual release, although I will still be very greatful :)

Just Plaster is a bit disappointing...I don't even like OSC that much.

Everyone else seems rather happy though, so I guess it was a good surprise.

Heh, it's a good song, but...doesn't live up to the hype that we created, IMO. But definetley still cool!! Should be enjoyable. ^_^

If you're building it up to be that different, you're in for disappointment. What I'll tell you is this:

The previously released demos (Untitled, Rhinestone, Esaul, etc) were very raw compared to this. Plaster/One Step Closer was written and recorded well after those, so the differences between the demo and the final track are less than the others.

That is good to hear, I'm big on high-quality, well-produced music and I was afraid this would sound scratchy. I saw in LPFuse you said there'd be a FLAC version as well :)

Not entirely what I was expecting but it's good so thanks to yourself and everyone involved.

Since everyone's hyped on Plaster, no. If I'm thinking what everyone else is, it's a fake demo of One Step Closer that was recorded shittily and slowed down a very little bit (noticable though).

*sneezey* Hey, anyone else wake up this morning sick?! TT; Stupid sinus infections...

oh my god! dont tell me you mean the unedited version of one step closer which i have on my computer since april 2006. by unedited, i mean no "synth"-sound (?) at the beginning and REDUCED scratching in the bridge. if so, im sorry but here it is...

i would be happy if nkramar or anyone else who heard this "new old" song could check it out and either proof or disproof it... :)
just compare the intro and the bridge of the album version with the one i posted

From your description (less scratching, etc), it sounds like it might be the 'Rock Mix' of OSC which was distributed on a promo disc to radio stations along with the album version.

I'll have to listen and compare with the known Rock Mix, but this isn't the same track that we'll be offering up.

I think that was just the Single Version of OSC. It seems too good to be a demo.

    Just checked -

    One Step Closer (PRO-CD-100323)
    01/ Album Version
    02/ Rock Mix

Comes in 2 versions, one in a paper slipcase, the other in a jewel case.

Track time for the Rock Mix and the mp3 you linked to were the same (2:37)
