i want something similar to hybrid theory - however having its own unique feel. the blend of music genres on HT was just awesome, more of the same please! just something new and fresh. maybe some new routes explored down the lyric path!

basically something that once you have heard it you know it was LP.

[edit]: maybe this should be discussed in 'the new album' thread? just an idea

I'd like to see some more tracks like 'My December' something slowed down, but also have songs that rock like 'A.06'. I just want something different and groundbreaking from linkin park. I have a feeling the third album could be amazing. and like Kevin said HTEP sounding sounds would be awesome also.

As long as we don't get Hybrid Theory Part Three I won't be too unhappy. It would be nice to see the branch out, and above all else stop using the same goddamn song structure for nearly every song.

A mixture of new and old style Linkin park would be fine.

For a theme to the album I think they should do 'Government Secrets'

I'd like a pure rap track from Mike. In the Meteora book he said that they made "Nobody's Listening" heavier so it would fit in with the rest of the album. I don't think that they needed to do that. When I listen to HTEP I have no problem hearing High Voltage or Step Up, pure rap tracks, mixed in with traditional LP sounding songs. Also a nice ballad, similar to My December, would be nice. Maybe a recorded version of "The Morning After", or even a re-recording of an HTEP song. Why is it that they made new versions of "High Voltage" but no other EP releases. That would be a nice suprise.

Well said... I think Brad Delson realizes that too or will have to realize it when all the barre chord progressions are used up but I'm pretty sure he'll make more creative guitar riffs

    What is rock opera?

Anyway this is what i would like,

    01. intro
    02. papercut like fast rap with rock chorus and so on
    03. heavy like song, think hit the floor or by myself, raw rock, but no rap
    04. song like "lying from you" funky guitars at the begining, rap/rock
    05. pure rap track, ie: dedicated or reading my eyes.
    06. soft rock song, visa vie, from the inside, very meaningfull
    07. "faint" one step closer like song.
    08. Another all chaz song, hard but not as hard as 03.
    09. hahn shows us how its done again, just like cure for the itch
    10. A song like Nobodies Listening, cept actually have good rap parts for mike, like Fuse, then have the chorus be chaz with maybe a few screams.
    11. Re-do "And One", a few diferent lyrics, but basicly all the same, including the last rap from Mike.
    12. Something that will shock us, totally new like BTH was for meteora, a step outside their genre.
    13. Ending softish song, much like Numb.
    14. outro

    1. I want a harder album
    2. They need to do some harmonies
    3. Their should be a pure rap track that really shows Mike's skill.
    4. Their should be a good turntable instrumental.
    5. Their should be a fast punk like song.
    :p

id like more rap than anything. Meteora didnt even have any rap in it lol. Hopefully mike can rap the way hes been rapping of late cos im really feelin that.

I hope LP even things up a little in terms of rock/rap on the next record.

I think Linkin Park should actually rent a house out somewhere like in California and just jam. They havent jammed out for any of the records and that "Be Yourself" jam that they did sounded pretty cool when they did it live. Like Rob said on the Making of Meteora DVD, they just work on songs individually for a while but I think for this 3rd album they should work backwards and come together then perfect their individual parts afterwards.

I think their new album should break their old mold...something different, but with a touch a HT in it. I think they should do a few slower songs--not like "My December", but more like BTH. More rapping would be good, but I think Chester should sing more...I'm all for screaming, but he has a really nice voice, and you can hear that in BTH.
