Damn I feel the complete opposite haha. Loved the film. It's a total mood piece. Also, how could you dislike the score? It was one of the best scores I've heard since The Social Network. Creepy and unsettling, just like the movie itself.
Aliens (1986) - 4.5/5
Seriously, Sigourney Weaver is the ultimate badass female ever! Loved the movie. One minor nitpick would be Bill Paxton's character, boy was he annoying.
The Thing (1982) – It was good... enjoyable at parts. Unintentionally humorous in others (like in the beginning where Garry breaks the window to shoot at the Norwegian, I almost died laughing ). I suppose the film's biggest virtue is the paranoic not-knowing-who's-infected element. The special effects are decent for its time (although sometimes awkwardly unrealistic). But nothing about the movie really made me go "wow". It's not that scary, well-acted or suspenseful to really be absorbing or astonishing. It's just not that good. But far from bad, too, and my overall impression is slightly positive – hence, 6/10.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, A. this was fucking awesome. loved it.
Better than Rise?
tough call bro. they work well together but it's a tough comparison.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 8/10 - Aside from weak human characters, this film was a blast to watch. Andy Serkis deserves to be top-billed, and the apes have never looked better. Toby Kebbell as Koba gives him a run for his money, though. WAAAAY better than Rise.
Se7en (1995) – Not bad, not bad at all. 7/10
Dawn of the Planet if the Apes- 10/10 This is my kind of movie, and they honestly nailed it. My favorite thing in the movie is the ape/ape interaction. It's so awesome to see how they've learned to communicate and all!! Better than Rise, but Rise was probably an 8/10 for me! I don't see how the next movie can top this one.
Prisoners (2013) – What an intense, gripping, disturbing experience. 8/10
The Lovely Bones - 4/5
Here's the deal: I'm a total pussy. This was more than enough for me to shit myself. But yeah, enjoyed the story a lot.
What about it was scary? I just remember feeling depressed and sick to my stomach, but I don't recall anything about the film calling for self-defecation.
glad you enjoyed it.
The last movie I saw was that really long one with the Japanese Bugatti, green trenchcoat and fat John Goodman smoking a bullet.
! Great film though.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013) – 7/10
That whole plot line towards the back half of the movie (while fun) was completely unnecessary. Who's idea was that?
I don't know, the whole thing is silly.
Re-Animator (1985) - 3/5
Just a fun campy 80's horror flick. I enjoyed it.
How to Train Your Dragon 2 - 8/10
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 2/5
So the movie started at 21:30. Here's a live stream of my thoughts.
21:45 - This is awesome.
22:00 - Whuut this is great.
22:15 - Man, this movie is good.
22:30 - *yawn*
22:45 - What time is it?
23:00 - This is a bit boring. Bit very boring.
23:15 - Just let it end.
23:30 - YES! YES! DOBBY IS A FREE ELF!
My God, it kept dragging and dragging, until I almost fell asleep. And I sat there for two freaking hours and they didn't even tell me who won in the fucking end. Ugh.
