Meteora is the band's most overrated album, in my opinion.

If you're asking me which is most overrated, I would have to go with Numb.

I would say In The End but it seems like an invalid question. Or at least entirely separate question.

For the record, this thread is about underrated and overrated by the entire fan-base or those at the LPA? My answers would change accordingly. I've been answering this question in terms of the entire fan-base.

I can agree with your point on A Thousand Suns, but I still think the LPA overlooks Minutes To Midnight too often.

I didn't think underrated meant bad.

For the most part, when you see LP album talk, it deals with Meteora, A Thousand Suns, and LIVING THINGS. I don't think Hybrid Theory is underrated because that's what brought most of us here. That just leaves Minutes..

No underrated doesnt mean bad but i dont think meteora isnt as bad as this a lot of the pwople here make it out to be. It gets an undeserved bad rap and that to me makes it underrated.

Underrated means it isn't valued as highly as it should be.

IMO, Hybrid Theory and A Thousand Suns have a fair amount of praise on the site. Sometimes I feel Meteora and Living Things are underrated but then again I understand where the negativity comes from. Most people seem to either hate Minutes To Midnight or feel neutral about the album. I don't feel it deserves that. Then again, a good amount of people voted for the album in this thread.

As I said, I feel like its generally liked on the site. I've never seen it bashed on the LPA. I know some people outside the site don't like it but I dont give a shit about them lol

I voted for Minutes to Midnight.

No, the band did not now where they wanted to expand to with this album. They just wanted to make it as different as possible from the first two. It was not until the album was released, and when it became clear what they were up to, that they had to take up a direction, like they surely did with A Thousand Suns.

Then again, two years from ATS, they released LIVING THINGS. I tell you, this band does not know what they're doing. They're not taking up a direction. All they've been doing for the past 8 years is experimenting. Yes, with LT as well. It was an experimentation, more with their career than their sound. As though they thought "Let's see where doing this again on this record would take us." Yet the second half of the album featured more of the band that wanted to evolve. But was there a direction, a decision on where to expand to? No. It's just bland experimentation.

And this year, the results of their latest efforts will be put on display, and maybe the album will have a clear path, like A Thousand Suns did. Maybe it won't. But from what we have so far, I think that, whatever they do, they won't do the same thing on the seventh album.

LP will never be a stable band as far as their sound goes. I mean HT and Meteora were stable, MTM wasnt, ATS came from left field
and LT came from idk which is not a bad thing at all but i dont think they will ever have one sound and keep to it i guess that's what makes them a Hybrid band.
I mean they can make a full electronic soft album, than go fully hip hop with rap beats, than go hardcore and heavy metal. All I'm saying is this band will always be
    experimental.

They need to just write what they want, instead of trying to manufacture an identity for themselves.
