Does anyone know? Every time I listen to the song I can't help but wonder what the hell Mike is apologising for lol.
i always thought he was apologising for releationship troubles that 'he' may of caused.. probably utterly wrong but thats what i get from the song. kinda like a sad love song..
This is what I think: A husband cheated on his wife (worst case scenerio), or shared a kiss with another girl and got caught red handed by the wife. And after realising his fault he's now apologizing to his wife. The apology part is In Between.
I found it was more about falling out of love or something. Being too proud to admit he was wrong about "forever".
When I hear IN BETWEEN, i always thinks its about a guy, that has make mistakes, and had always wanted to change his ways, but keeps ignoring himself. This verse sums it up. the part that says "but trying to be genuine was harder than it seemed" -- that sums the song up, as aforementioned. in trying to change from one thing to another, he gets caught up between the two things. the only line i don't get in that song is "fear is not afraid of you". it's not quite cryptic but it makes no sense, all the same.
oh! i think that this song was basically written by Chester...but i think that Chaz thought Mike's voice suited the song better than his...so chester decided to use Mike's voice.... maybe this songs is (again!!!) about chester's relationships gone bad

Just so you know the correct line is "The things I want to say to you get lost before they come" "The only thing that's worse than one is none" is this line talking about truth? That line confuses me a little bit. meh
I think it's open to interpretation as most LP songs are. Sometimes i listen to it and think of mom and sister, the lyrics are spot on to how I feel at times. I don't think so, I think hes just saying theres nothing worse then not be able to tell a person how your really feeling thus things getting lost in translation and you letting somebody down even though you didn't mean it that way ( aka being caught in between)
Ye I agree, But I don't think it's about his life or anyone from the band. Just in general like people experience every relationships. L
What I got from it was that he's trying to say something, but he can't say it right, and he's trying to be someone else. Pretty much he's apologizing about not being who he genuinely is.
actually it does make sense. i think wat hes getting at is even tho wen i tell you the truth your going to get really mad. and i have alot of fear in me of telling you this but my fear isnt afraid of you cause im telling you what really happend thts what i think if someone thinks of something better than that. (which prolly will happen) just let me know...thts the best i can do.
