If my CD broke...I think it would be pretty hard to replace. I would buy a new one, but if wouldn't feel the same :wth: It was my first LP CD and I have listened to it many, many times...it's sort of sentimental :embarassed: Or am I just mental? How would you feel?
i would buy a new one, but i wouldnt like it as much. like seriously, when i bought hybrid theory, it took me about 10 minutes to figure out which copy in the store i wanted, there were so many to choose from! but i wanted the one that i connected with perfectly. i found that one, with no regrets and i dont wanna lose it!!!! i would still keep the cd's shards if it broke though.
If my Hybrid Theory cd broke in half, which would never happen by the way, I would just buy a new one. A cd is just a cd to me. Unless I got it autographed or something, then it would be sentimental.
what the ####... [/b][/quote] Precisely what I was thinking. It's just a CD guys, not a holy grail. My Hybrid Theory disc is unplayable so I just reburned a new copy for myself. I could easily go out and buy a new one. I wont cry if I'm not playing the same CD I bought 2 years ago. I dont have sentimental value on something unless its expensive, irreplacable or something I got from a family member. A signed CD might have personal value to me but then I'd put that copy away and buy a new one just so it wouldn't get ruined. Also, no offense but you wasted minutes of your life trying to 'connect' with a jewel case. All Hybrid Theory cd's will play exactly the same...they are recorded in a similar fashion and pressed out by factories, unless your CD is broken when you buy it, it'll sound just like your first cd. If you think it sounds different, you're insane.
You said that as if they recorded each CD individually. Personally, I think you guys were rude to that person. There was no need to make that person feel lower than dirt just because they had to "connect" with the CD before buying it. You degraded that person for no reason at all.

I think i would scream very loud And than buy a new one,but i would'nt feel the same like the first one
I would buy another one. I'd feel good to have a new fresh CD, cause the CD has a lot of marks on it and the cover is cracked.

(i love saying that) and i kinda dug myself in that hole of being critisized.... so i should expect that.... no harm done, Derek. IMO choosing the right copy is neccessary, you must have a connection with your CDs, thats what makes it special, instead of an object that entertains you for [insert length of CD here] and be done with it. especially if you use the music to cope with life (as i do), how does one cope when you know that you could do anything with it (break, scratch) and not be burdened with the loss of it. i cherish and take care of the things i hold dear, and that includes my escape. and how can you love something that was chosen randomely off of a shelf?but as i said before, thats just my opinion.
I solved this problem for myself. I took my original Hybrid Theory and got the CD and insert signed by all the band members at Ozzfest. Then I took it home and framed it and it's kept with all my other Linkin Park stuff. Then I just got a new copy so I know I'll always have my first original LP CD and it's signed.
This is off topic, but... KEATON, I'd die to have that font in your signature that goes over the star.
