Which direction will they choose? Personally, I think they'll go back to their roots but who knows? What do you guys think?
BACK TO DER ROOTS I've come to personally understand that the band's "roots" are in making music that blends the band members' varying individual influences and styles. I'm happy for them to continue doing that.
I want a fast, heavy, punky album full of songs like GATS and War, with no shitty Final Masquerades and Wastelands thrown in. I expect something entirely new for the band, and I expect to love it.
Nope. Whatever they do, it's not gonna be this. Otherwise, I don't know what to expect. How could you know?
I love "Out of Ashes" from Dead By Sunrise. I would like an LP album with a similar style like this CD. A music more darker and heavy, like the songs: let down, my suffering, condemned, walking in circles, in the darkness or morning after from the other band of Chester.
Probably another shot at a Living Things esque "throw it all together and see what comes out" album. I think had LT was a bit less polished it would have been recieved better and now that they've proven (to themselves, more importantly) that they can actually do no-bullshit rock music that they could probably go for that angle again and have it come out pretty well.
Well how do you know that they're not gonna do this? Oh, that's right. You don't. None of us have any clue what their next album is gonna sound like.
Well, part of the reason this record happened was that the band wanted that energy back. The presence of certain members is going to keep the band from "tuning it back." LP isn't the kind of band to do that for more than a couple tracks.
The reason THP happened was because mainly Mike was dissatisfied with the state of rock music. So they made their mark, now they move. Their path is not set to make another heavy album. It's all up to what they want to explore next.
Their path IS and ONLY to slay the dragon to save the kingdom Seriously though,if they make some Lockjaw-ish track,I'll be the gladdest person in Milky Way
I want creative soft music, stuff that feels like Three Band Terror, The Last Line, and Devil's drop. Preferably, some stuff with more complexity than those songs. As in, more sections than just chorus and verse, maybe multiple acoustic guitars going at once, guitar riffs that take longer than half-an-hour to learn, etc. Let's not get into the whole "Music doesn't have to be complex to be good" discussion, because that's not what I'm saying. It's just what I'd like to see next. Of course, I'd like some higher energy songs in there as well, but maybe nothing more intense than say, Iridescent, in terms of energy levels.
Save the mellow stuff for when Chester finally loses his aggressive edge. They can make all the Iridescent's you want after that.
Man, more three band terror would be cool. Honestly, if they make another heavy album(I like all songs on THP), but it would be cool if they made more in the vein of War, Rebellion or MTG. Although, anything in any genre with more meaningful lyrics than THP would be great for me.
