I have been looking every where for a good computer for gaming what one do you guys like i was thinking alienware computers thoughs are supposed to be the best in gaming thats what alienware says i need help :wth:
if you want to buy a gaming machine, get an Alienware. They say Dell has a good gaming machine, but I just don't like Dell. If you can't get an Alienware, build you a desktop for gaming.
Thanks alot my friend said a dell but i looked on the internet and they said it was too much money to spend on a dell cause there is better computers out there
Don't go with Alienware unless you're rich. Don't go with Dell, they use Intel processors. Intel is crap for what you get. If you want to build a good gaming machine, you can, for about the price of a ripoff dell. Get an AMD Athlon XP 64 3000+ or 3400+ and a motherboard with PCI express. Then, depending on how much money you have left get a 6600GT or x800 video card.
Either buy a barebones kit, or find all the parts yourself. You can't trust those big companies to have the 'perfect' gaming computer, as there's usually one component that sucks. [processor] AMD Athlon 64 3400+ or higher. [gfx] ATi Radeon x850 or higher. [mem] 2GB RAM or more. [hdd] the more space, the better. I can't really tell you much about what mobo to get, or cooling system to get (water is preferred though.) so yeah. But the specs I listed above are great for gaming.
Golden Rule: You can 99% of the time build a better machine than you can buy. That said, Dell's gaming computers have really come up in the heirarchy and are very nice. Alienware has gone down the drain IMO but they're still decent. Falcon Northwest has always had great computers, for a price. And Voodoo is just amazingly sick, especially their laptops, but I hope you're a millionare. EDIT: I do agree that the AMD 64 bit processors have an edge over Intel, but Dell's are still very good, and cost effective.
I've seen Voodoo's prices, and what you spend on one computer there can build you 2 or 3 of the exact same computer with the exact same specs. It simply isn't worth it. With companies like Voodoo, Falcon, Alienware and all the other "gaming" companies, you're paying a premium for a fancy case. I just looked at Voodoo's site, and they've got a computer that costs $5100. That $5100 gets you a cool case, and about $1,000 worth of parts. Its simply not worth it, and to rip you off even more, that $5100 computer only gets you an 80 gig hard drive! I'm sorry, but 80 gigs is nothing if you're a gamer who's going to have a metric shitton of games installed.

[/b][/quote] damn it cost that much no thanks i think thats crazy your right thanks for all of your guys thoughts you guys are very smart i think im trying to go with the more affordable one cause i am no million air
build a custom machine always, it will be the parts you want and likely to be cheaper. invent in nvidias new SLI cards, they are really good plus upgrabable.
I've got the same processor. Is your's the rare 939-pin like I have? [I say rare, because it doesn't show up on AMD's site, and only some stores sell it.]
Chances are, if you need help getting a good gaming computer, you have no idea how much those parts are going to cost. -- lots.

[/b][/quote] Well, the depends if you're smart and you know where the cheapest place to buy parts on. It's always better to get it built by yourself than to have some company make it themselves, and install their shit on it [not naming any companies here, no of course not, dell. *cough*].
