Are there any bands out there that play in the same genre as LP? I'm trying to look for that "in-between" band, nothing with too much rock or too much rap. Just a nice, easy balance.

Also, since I'm pretty much off topic as it is, has anyone heard of Story of the Year? If you have, are there any bands that sound like them? One of my friends told me Adema and Finger Eleven do, but they really don't. Any help on either topic is appreciated.

wrong forums. this belongs in "other bands".

Crazytown's "darkhorse" album is very Linkin Park-ish. try that out.

Welcome to the forums stlrav! Please read the rules on top of the forums and PM me with any questions!

    Well, LPFAN05 took mine..
But yeah Crazy Town is a lot like LP, especially since they both have an emcee...Borialis is a lot like them and 311

    LP: Singer & Emcee
    CT: Singer & Emcee
Borialis: Emcee, but they have rock riffs
311: Singer & Emcee, isn't guite as hard as the rest, but still a lot a like.

(^^^^^I was just pointing that out, whether it has to do with anything or not.)

    (hed) P.E. has a few LP-ish songs.

and Story of the Year kicks ass. They're just about one of the only really good bands to come out of my hometown of St. Louis. And an interesting thing I found out yesterday is that my physic's teacher's son was (maybe still is) good friends with the guitarist from SOTY

and stlrav, where in St. Louis are you?

In my opinion, none. But if you want another rap-rock band, Limpbizkit is as close as it gets.

I don't think they can be categorized or compared to other bands. But if you want an AWESOME rap-metal band, try the now-broken-up RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. Everyone probably knows this, but in case you don't, Zach de La Rocha left and the singer from Soundgarden joined the band and they became what is now Audioslave.

There's a lot of bands with a similar sound to Linkin Park, actually. Pitchshifter is like an Adema/Linkin Park hybrid, Crazytown, limpbizkit, P.O.D. There's a lot more but I can't be bothered to remember them all.

Actually I heard a band called "Echo 7" and they had a song called "One Step Away".....come on the name give COPY away! "One Step Closer" and "one Step Away" puhlease! And it is hard to fool a huge LP fan on a song, and I thought it was a new LP song coming on ....it wasn't.
