Weezer have been recording for their new album with producer Jacknife Lee (produced Bloc Party's "A Weekend In The City" and REM's "Accelerate", ad well as Pork & Beans and Troublemaker off of the Red Album) for a while now, and it appears that the band are finishing up. Word has come out that the band is recording background vocals while River's is out on a meditation retreat, a ritual he usually does before an album releases. It seems like they're wrapping things up in studio, and that should mean an album by as early as June. Personally, i'm excited. The band made some significant improvements with Red, so hopefully this will be good.
Yeah, hopefully they won't overthink this one. That was the main problem with Make Believe, and to a lesser extent, Red. They work better quickly.
Also, they're all wearing lab coats while recording. I'm not joking. Seriously, they're all wearing lab coats for some reason. Trust me, it's from a really trustworthy source.
That's probably one of the least unusual things they've ever done. Definitely as far as Rivers is concerned.
