As promised last week, the episode of Carpool Karaoke that Linkin Park and Ken Jeong shot in July has now been uploaded to Facebook. Head over to their Facebook page to watch or watch it here below. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2040457085969998 What do you think of the episode? Come and discuss in our forums.
I think James is a better host with carpool, but nevertheless, a great one. Very hard to watch. When Chester was singing Numb, he screamed so powerfully and had fun, but he looked different. I don’t know. He looks like he was screaming with huge pain inside. That ”dungeons and dragons” scream reminded of Given Up’s long scream. Hearing Chester singing to a RHCP song, one of my other favorite bands, was happy to see. When the Numb started playing again at the end, when he said ’everyone should sing along’, who could have imagined it was the last time he asked us to do so. He was having so much fun and smiling. Amazing last moments of Chester singing, I’m happy that Talinda and the family gave us the opportunity to see this. RIP Chester <3
Well thank you Talinda for letting us see it. I could of used less Ken Jeong and more Linkin Park. Just so crazy, I didn't see any recognizable pain on Chester. But when it comes to mental illness that's the takeaway from this.....very often, the surface of a person isn't where the pain is seen or found.
It's hard to watch Chester having a blast. Don't know if I approached the video the right way or if there's a right way to approach it, but I found myself laughing and singing along rather than crying. Of course it's saddening, but it was a very uplifting moment which I will take as a last memory of Chester. Chester will always be remembered as someone who could bring joy to everyone around him and seeing that on this video is heartwarming. I think anything LP may do in the future will always be joyful and sad at the same time and I can't help having mixed feeligs about it, but this was the band that got me into music and helped me to go through some hard times the same way they'll certainly help me overcome every setback I may have in the future. I think that no matter how saddening the songs may feel now or in the future, this band will always have a special place in my life. A word of appreciation should also be given to Talinda for letting the episode be aired. I didn't become a fan of Ken, though.
“All I want to do is be more like me and be less like MIKE!” “I’m tired of being what Mike wants me to be!” Man, I needed the laughs. I’m so happy that we got to see this. Luckily, I like Ken’s crazy ass. Haha
"Chow is singing the end of the song, Chow is singing the coda of the song, There weren't supposed to be lyrics, but, That is how Mr. Chow rolls, f*ck you, Miiiiiike."
It really is unbelievable, judging by his happiness on this video just days before he passed away and also during the OML live shows. That's what makes it more saddening and heartbreaking.
When he was talking about his kids, I dunno if I am right, but I felt Chester went grim for a few moments after that. And the way he sang Numb with all his heart.
Wow... There was really no sign at all of what he was going to do a few days later. For the duration of that video I completely forgot about what he did. I love his happy and positive energy. I'm going to miss this guy so freaking much.
Yep, watching the video gave me the feeling he's still alive. It wasn't until the end it all came back to me. He appeared so happy and outgoing. That's exactly the Chester I knew and loved and that's how I want to keep him in my memory. When he talked about his kids it hit me hard. It's devastating that they lost their father, their role model.
It was a rollercoaster of emotions watching this because one minute I was crying while listening to Numb for the first time and the next one I was laughing so hard when I saw them dancing. Had to replay it a few times because iit was one of the best moments I was looking for sth in Chester's eyes, any sign of sadness, but saw none, he seemed so happy and cheerful. I'm so grateful Talinda let us watch this, it's how we should remember him.
