As you may know, Green Day's next video will be "Wake Me Up When September Ends". As far as I know, the estimated premier time is around early may. But besides that, I stumbled upon some stills from the video at GreenDay.net, and I thought I'd post them here. What I'm surprised about is that the video features Jason White, the band's backup guitarist for live shows. So, without further delay, here are the stills. (Thanks to GreenDay.net.) 1/2/3/4/5/6/7
Like we need another Bush ripping song out there on top 40! I smell overplayed everywhere...then that will be the death of American Idiot! (thank the fucking heavens)

(thank the fucking heavens)
I'd like a Bush ripping song but I agree with you about how it will be overplayed and then it will be the end of that album.
I knew they were going to release WMUWSE as a single the first time heard it, because ever since Good Riddance, they release one semi-acoustic/full on acoustic song each time. Nimrod - Good Riddance Warning - Macys Day Parade International Superhits - Pop Rocks and Coke American Idiot - Wake me up when september ends Not complaining, I like their acoustic songs and think Billie Joe is an amazing writer. Anyway...the video looks like its all a performance, which I expected also because I could never imagine a story for this song. I'm kind of sad it's being released as a single, I hate when good songs are overplayed to death, and I'm pretty sure this song will be huge.
I think Greenday wanted to release it as their single is because Billie Joe's dad died but thats what I think
I'm pretty glad they actually show the backing guitarist in this video, since when I saw Greenday live in January the backing guitarist did twice as much work on his part on the new material than Billie Joe did on his guitar parts.
That's part of what the lyrics are about. The video looks okay, better than most of the recent live performance ones, and the song itself is pretty good, but I think three singles is enough for one album.
Yea I think that's the only reason why WMUWSE might flop, AI has been overplayed. Same thing with BTH and LP IMO.
I still don't know the meaning of this song. When I first saw the title a year or so back, I was convinced it was about 9/11. Eh. Anyways, it's a good song, good single choice. I just don't have to agree with it.
I've heard some people say that they thought it was about 9/11. But it's about his father dying, billie joe has confirmed it on many occasions.
Really? Aww.
It is about his dad. He confirmed it on VH1 Storytellers. I wanted the last single to be Whatsername, but since this is really Billie Joe's personal song, he should be able to do what he wants. You know what I mean, right?
