Anyone have anything to recommend? Myself and a buddy of mine are trying to cover a simple song, (just guitar and vocal) but the headset I have I realized isn't going to cut it after testing out. When I hit high levels it gets all distorted but it likes to pick up the smallest shit making the recording sound all over the place. Quite disappointing. I don't need anything expensive or high tech-y, just something that's going to record my vocal without getting stupid.

    Thanks.

If you don't own one yet, you could always invest in an SM58 ... but that's a standard live vocal mic first and foremost. I'm no expert on studio mics.

What's your price range? There are recording artists on this board who should be able to help
