I think the video effects are by Ghost Town Media. They do most of the bands multimedia including Living Things , Burn It down and ATOS artwork. They also did the video effects for Catalyst, Burn It Down, Iridescent, Waiting For the End and New Divide. http://ghosttownmedia.com/
Yeah but I think this one wasn't entirely on the band, they were in the hands of the MOH team, I think Mike even mentioned it at some point in one of the interviews..
In and of itself the video is fine. However, the game had better have a genuinely interesting way of dealing with its subject matter, because otherwise pairing this with it would be almost as bad as all the "war and militarism are bad, yo" type shit that's shoehorned into Modern Warfare.
While this isn't the video I envisioned it was a great watch, one of the better videos. Especially since I haven't cared too much for the videos as of late. This is my favorite song from Living Things and the video works and hopefully becomes popular.
http://www.kotaku.com.au/2012/10/me...aign-reaches-its-inevitably-stupid-conclusion ^ Douchey article re: the music video. IMO, loved the music video - one of the best the band has ever released.
I love the video too. As many have already pointed out it is very Crawling-esque. However I fail to see how the lyrics relate to the story in the video AT ALL.
This is one of their better music videos in awhile. The buildup wasn't very exciting, and I'd have preferred if they used the original song instead of simply taking out parts of it and adding that generic synth to the intro, but it was alright, I suppose. My one real problem I had, though - and this is for music videos in general - is the fact that when the band is spotlighted, the guitar strumming in particular looks incredibly silly, as they don't seem to actually be playing the song but are simply dramatizing their strumming to make things more visually appealing. Also, there were a few awkward moments of Chester overacting, but that's pretty much a given.
I respect all negative comments about the new mix, but, what are you talking about people?? IMO... castle of glass is not a happy song is obscure and mystic and misteriuos, the new mix goes along better with the overall meaning. But what can i say im only a fissure in this thread of pane.
Any "generic synth" you hear in this version is in the original song too. The only thing they did was take out a couple sounds for the first half of the first verse.
Interesting. I was expecting them to take the castle of glass metaphor a little further with the video, maybe make it more overtly anti-war. I like what we got though, especially the rearranged beginning.
Wait, that synth sample that fades in at around 0:52 and remains at the forefront until 1:09 is in the original song as well? I honestly didn't know that if so.
I love this alternative mix, TBH I think LP will have most of their new songs with an extended intro. It makes the original better. They probably will use the new intro for live performances.
Amazing video. Just goes to show how Joe not being at the helm can make a big difference in quality. For once, in what seems like years, do we have a LP video where the video actually embodies the energy and emotion core of the song. Loved it!
Not sure if this is posted but you guys can check out a "making of" video by Digital Domain here: http://www.itsartmag.com/features/making-of-linkin-park-castle-of-glass-clip/
