Yeah. haven't already seen a thread about this, searched, didn't find any, but if there is one, delete this or something. But yeah. Trivium's new video for Dying in your arms is now done, and will be premiering on MTV2 Headbangers ball on March 4th (for all you lucky lucky people with sky, cable or whatever), Otherwise just Watch it here Yeah. Video wasn't bad. I had low hopes, but things sort of looked up with the piano intro (I am a sucker for piano intros ) but otherwise.. meh. nothing special. wish they'd have kept the original, and i hated the fact they got rid of the screaming. especialy because of what they replaced it with. but yeah. Opinions? On another note: I'm seeing them in 6 days. can't wait!
I have to be honest... Trivium is... not impressing me much anymore, lol. The video to me just lacks interest... I feel like I'm watching a montage or something. It's cool to see live shots, but this just seems rushed or not much thought was put behind it. I give them some props because they trashed their original idea but... I don't know. It's just not what I thought Trivium would put out. I loved the intro, that new intro was cool... but they cut the screaming! I hope this isn't something they're trying to hint towards us.. Like their new album will have less screaming or something... :\ I don't know, overall if I were channel surfing, I wouldn't stop to watch the video. It feels like a step down from videos like Pull harder... or even Gunshot.... Bleh!
I bet I know why. The lyrics for the screaming part are: Remember, MTV bleeps out anything remotely related to violence and death (among other things), and while those lyrics are pretty harmless to you and I, MTV would probably bleep them anyways, so to prevent the screaming from sounding like: they probably just cut that part out alltogether so the song didn't sound butchered once on TV
Todd, that part is still there. They merely sing it now. In my opinion it sounds a lot better and goes better with the song. As for what you said, Keaton: They're moving away from metalcore with their next CD because they don't want to sound like bands like Atreyu anymore.
Sweet motherfucking lord what a lineup! I'm with Friskey, if anyone can give me money to go I will literally be their slave
Am I the only one who thinks this video is fake? Because I do believe on an episode of Headbanger's Ball a few weeks back, they said that they were sick of doing performance videos, and that the video for this is based on Phantom of the Opera, with matt as the Phantom. So either a fan made that video, or Trivium is a bunch of lying bastards. Either way, the video sucks. :|
Or, Trivium don't lie and it's real They made the phantom video (I think. or at least most of it), then scrapped it a while back and decided to make this one instead. they should have stuck with the phoantom idea though..
I heard the radio edit a while ago on Myspace and liked the piano intro, but then I just had a fit when I heard the singing that replaced the screaming. Overall, I'm disappointed. I was looking forward to the Phantom of the Opera style one. It had better be on a DVD or something later.
I think I'm the only one who enjoys the edited version more. The screaming seemed out of place in the original version of the song.
It sounds nicer, I'll admit, but I always felt the screaming was a sense of frustration that enhanced it. Now it kind of feels like a regretful line rather than an angry one. ...Yeah. I got all philosophical on that one.
I dunno actualy which one I like more...either way I'm going to their gig in 8 days and that should be pretty damn good
